The Magistrate in 2254

The Magistrate was the designation of the Talosian leader who captured Captain Christopher Pike in 2254, and then orchestrated his return to Talos IV in 2267. (TOS episode: "The Menagerie")

In 2320, the Magistrate again communicated telepathically with Ambassador Spock, bringing him back to Talos IV following Pike's death. (TOS novel: Burning Dreams)

Magistrate was the title of the head of the Corporate Alliance and its directorate. The most well-known Magistrate was Passel Argente, who was also a leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.
