Other Information {{{Info}}}

Lunar Dragon is an optional boss in the Game Boy Advance port of Final Fantasy IV. It is fought during Rydia's Lunar Trial at the Lunar Ruins. When beaten, the player obtains the Mist Ring, and the Grimoire LD, which, if used as an item, summons the Lunar Mist Dragon to deal 9,999 damage to all enemies. Using up the Grimoire unlocks the trial door again.

Strategy

Lunar Dragon will use Sleeping Gas and Poison Gas on the party, and also uses Cold Mist to inflict Ice damage on the party. It also transforms to and from a mist form, raising its Evade, although a physical attack may cause it to revert. It can also heal itself for 9,999 damage with Restore, and casts Slow. Rydia's Bahamut summon may fail if used during this trial, so she should otherwise cast Flare to avoid the risk. Rosa and Porom should use Esuna to heal Lunar Dragon's status attacks, while the rest of the party uses physical attacks. If Cecil has acquired the Lightbringer, his ultimate weapon, he may accidentally heal the Lunar Dragon by casting Holy against it.
