Louis was a Human raised in France on Earth in the early 23rd century, a childhood friend of Robert and Jean-Luc Picard.
Louis remained close to both Picard brothers for many years, and when Jean-Luc returned to Earth in 2367 following his assimilation by the Borg, Louis offers Picard the chance to head up the Atlantis Project, which he very nearly accepted. (TNG episode: "Family", TNG novel: Perchance to Dream)

Louis is a French Canadian otter from Sesame Park. His name is pronounced "Louie," and he is best friends with Basil. Although Basil's constant questioning sometime annoys Louis, he tries to be patient and helps teach Basil French words. Louis the Camel is a camel who was invited to attend the Queen of Snow's Christmas feast during the 2009 Christmas event. The camel can only be spoken to by people using a Camulet, so only members can understand what he says.
Louis complains that no one except the player has spoken to him since he arrived, passing off the human's inability to speak to camels as a feeble excuse. When Ebenezer Scourge traps the partygoers in the magic flames, he complains that no one asked him to join in, believing that humans bursting into flames is an odd Christmas tradition.
