"Let's hope they stay lost."
Jaina Solo, after being informed of the reputation of the Lost Ones.

The Lost Ones was a street gang that lived and operated in the undercity of Coruscant. It was composed of juvenile delinquents who had run away or been abandoned by their parents because of their bad behavior. Chief among them was Norys, a youth known for his reputation as a bully.

Members of the Lost Ones marked their territory with a symbol resembling a targeting cross surrounded by a triangle. Because normal, intact weapons were hard to come by in Coruscant's undercity, they resorted to arming themselves with weapons that had been cobbled together from sharp pieces of scrap.

After the botched training of the Solo Twins and Lowbacca, Brakiss and the Great Leader of the Second Imperium decided that it would be best to recruit disadvantaged youths instead of the prominent targets that they had kidnapped initially. Given that very few would care about the disappearances and those that did care had very little recourse to the law, this plan had many advantages.

The members of the Lost Ones fit that profile. After he was captured, Zekk was used by the Shadow Academy to convince them to help fill the ranks of the Second Imperium. Those who were Force-sensitive would be trained to be Dark Jedi. Those who were not still were useful because they knew their way around a planet that was considered to be the heart of the New Republic. Such knowledge could be turned to the purposes of espionage and sabotage. The latter group would be trained as elite stormtroopers and TIE pilots.

Former members of the Lost Ones participated in the assault on the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4. Their fate after that is unknown though they were either killed or captured.

Pre-Republic Era, Old Republic Era

The Lost Ones was a former elite Special Operations squad in the Rakatan Military, which became a Dark Side cult after the group fled to Malachor V.

The Lost Ones were originally formed as the Militisab Cruentus, or the Soldiers of the Void, a special operations group formed by the Rakatan warlord, the One.

The Militisab Cruentus went on missions of various purpose, the most common being rebellion quashing and acting as a royal battalion. When the Infinite Rakatan Empire was stripped of its powers due to the Eborax virus, the Militisab Cruentus was performing a scouting mission. When they arrived to their empire's borders, they found it shattered and thier friends and allies stripped of thier powers. They arrived at Lehon, and it was discovered that the group still possessed thier powers. When this information reached the Rakatan Overlord's ears, he deemed it necessary to capture the SpecOps group, so as to engineer some form of a cure.

The Militisab Cruentus escaped the Overlord's grasp, and were chased to the outer-skirts of the planet's atmosphere, when the Overlord could follow no further due to thier loss of control over the Force, and in extension thier vehicles. The SpecOps travelled far and wide, and eventually landed on the planet Malachor V. There the group stripped themselves of thier former title, and fashioned themselves a new - the Lost Ones. Whilst on Malachor V, the Lost Ones delved into the Dark Side of the Force. Eventually they moved to Malachor VII.

During the Cruentusian War, the Lost Ones participated in several minor skirmishes, and succeeded in retrieving the Hand of Darkness afterfact. Following their defeat on the desert world of Ahara, which also resulted in the death of their leader Ravyr and the Hand of Darkness falling out of their hands, they retracted from the war.
