The following are the abilities usable in the North American SNES release. Many abilities from the Japanese release were removed.

The following are the abilities usable in the Game Boy Advance release. All of the above abilities are still present, although some names have changed; Dark, Recal, Call, Peep and Bear are called Dark Wave, Recall, Summon and Guard, respectively. Many abilities can be "upgraded" by equipping a certain equipment piece.
The following are the abilities usable in the Nintendo DS release. Many of the following abilities are highly altered from their original appearances in prior release, and several can be learned as Augment abilities.
