Race: Carrionite
Home Planet: Rexel 4
Home Era: Dark Times
Appearances: DW: The Shakespeare Code
Actor: Christina Cole

Lilith was a Carrionite who, like the rest of her race, was banished to the Deep Darkness by the Eternals.

Through the words of William Shakespeare after the death of his son, she and her mothers, Mother Doomfinger and Mother Bloodtide, were able to escape into this universe on Earth in 1598.

From their arrival on into 1599, she helped influence in the construction of the Globe Theatre, persuading the architect, Peter Streete, to build the theatre so that it would have 14 sides.

In 1599, the three Carrionites opened a portal to the Deep Darkness, allowing all other Carrionites to enter this universe, but they were stopped by Shakespeare after her created a phrase that closed the portal and trapped Bloodtide, Doomfinger, and Lilith in their crystal ball, which the Doctor took. History

Originally living in peace at home, Lilith started to manifest strange mental powers at the age of 13. She read her parents' minds to find she was adopted, then left home to try to find her birth parents. After some trouble, she ended up working as a dancer at the Canary Cottage disco. During this time, she encountered Loren Jupiter, and began to aid him in his cause.

Soon, Lilith approached the Teen Titans and asked to join. She saw premonitions involving a political figure, who inevitably died, proving her power. She then became a member of the Teen Titans.

Eventually, she left the team and resettled on the West Coast, where she started a new branch of the Titans (known as Titans West). She briefly dated one of her team members, Don Hall (Dove), before the team disbanded.

During the Terror of Trigon storyline, Lilith played a key role in tracking down the former Titan Raven, who was at that time possessed by her evil demonic father. Eventually, Lilith made some type of psychic connection with Raven's mentor, the goddess Azar, and hosted the souls of her followers in a successful attempt to cleanse Raven of evil.

Lilith stayed on with the Titans briefly, during which time she accompanied the team on a trip to Donna "Wonder Girl" Troy's home island of Themyscira. During this mission into the realms of Greek myth, Lilith finally learned her true parentage: her father was a normal human who had been seduced by Thia, the mythological Greek Titaness of the sun. The power-hungry Thia attempted to take over Olympus, but the young mortal Teen Titans helped defeat the Titans of Myth and returned home safely--all except Lilith, who elected to remain on Olympus, claiming her birthright as a demi-goddess.

Post-Crisis

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Lilith was not heard from for a time; however, the mythological Titans (including Thia) showed up in New Titans # 50-54 as a benevolent pantheon and adoptive parents of Donna Troy. This storyline effectively negated Lilith's origin. Her only significant appearance at this time was a brief cameo in the War of the Gods storyline, in which she received a premonition that her friend Donna was once again in trouble; this showed readers that she was indeed alive and well, and living on Earth as opposed to Olympus.

Years later, Lilith once again found her birth parents. Her mother's identity was never revealed to the readers, but it is known that she helped Lilith unlock untapped abilities. Her birth father turned out to be none other than the Teen Titans' old benefactor, Loren Jupiter.

She took the name Omen, and became part of the Teen Titans team lead by a teenaged Atom and founded by Loren Jupiter; initially, the team did not realize that Omen was Lilith. She was captured by her half-brother Haze (Jarrod Jupiter), who used her powers to augment his own. Haze was defeated by the Teen Titans with the aid of four of the original Titans: Nightwing, Tempest, Flash III and Arsenal. Her Teen Titans team eventually disbanded.

She aided the Titans in protecting former team-mate Cyborg's soul from the Justice League. Shortly after that, Lilith was abducted by Vandal Savage, who wanted her to divine a perfect team to take down the Titans. Savage forced Lilith to submit, but she purposely chose members who wouldn't work well as a team. She was rescued by the reformed Titans.

Lilith stood with her old friends when a mysterious corporation called Optitron approached the Titans and Young Justice with an offer to fund the two groups. Before they could discuss the offer, the teams were attacked by an android from the future called Indigo. The malfunctioning robot accidentally activated a Superman android believed to be long destroyed. The rampaging Superman Android managed to both snap Lilith's neck and pierce Donna Troy's heart, killing both beloved Titans. This tragedy led team leader Nightwing to disband the two groups (though they would be reformed shortly thereafter as the Outsiders and the latest incarnation of the Teen Titans).

Lilith was resurrected by the newest Brother Blood as the latest in his doomed line of mother-figures. Despite the request of Speedy, Kid Eternity did not allow her to stay among the living.

A statue of Lilith is in the Memorial of the Titans Tower in San Francisco.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Lilith was a high-order telepath and precognitive. She also possesed a low level of telekinesis, could teleport herself and/or others, and had access to an unknown amount of mystical power from an unexplained source.

  • Precognition: At the start of her career, Lilith was a mildly powerful precog, able to predict future events with limited degrees of accuracy.
  • Telepathy: Lilith's telepathic abilities developed later in life and evolved from her inherent precognitive powers.
  • Teleportation: Lilith had the ability to instantly teleport from one location to another through force of will. Visually, this ability produced a bizarre swirling affect around her physical person. Teleportation was not part of Lilith’s original abilities, and the means by which she acquired this power is unknown.

Former Powers

Thermokinesis: Lilith developed the ability to project intense waves of heat. It is believed that this ability may have had some connection to Lilith's ties with the space angel Azrael. [1]

Abilities

Lilith held psychic "templates" of the members of the Titans within her mind, granting her continuous access to their memories and psyches.

Strength level

Average Human

Weaknesses

Power Instability: Whenever Lilith used her telepathy on another person, she absorbed a portion of that individual's psyche. An imprint of those she encountered was left within her, slowly turning her into a psychic reflection of the individual. When others looked upon Lilith's face, they often saw one of these psychic reflections rather than her real face. This is what caused Lilith to begin obscuring her features when she took on the guise of Omen. [2]

Paraphernalia

Equipment

Lilith once safeguarded the Rings of Azar for Raven.

Transportation

Though Lilith died having been a long-range teleporter, before that particular ability was unlocked, she drove a 1968 Volkswagon Mini-Bus

Notes

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
  • Lilith's history is long, confusing, and the 'Titans Tower' website does a very good job of explaining it all. For example:
  • Just before the Crisis, Lilith's birth mother was revealed as Thia, the Titaness of the Sun. She spent a brief amount of time on Mount Olympus as a Goddess, before the Crisis negated her newfound origin... and gave it to Donna Troy.
  • Post-Crisis, Lilith actually found her birth mother – she's the one who 'unlocked' the rest of Lilith's powers. This woman told Lilith that her father was Loren Jupiter, and then made Lilith promise not to tell a soul who she was. This information was never revealed, even after Lilith's death.
  • Lilith was a member of or affiliated with each incarnation of the Titans, if only temporarily in some cases.
  • It is suspected, but not confirmed, that Lilith remembered the world as it was Pre-Crisis and Pre-Zero Hour.

Trivia

On the rare occasions Lilith was forced into a physical altercation, she used basic Judo moves and nerve-strikes taught to her by Dick Grayson.

History

Lilith's past is largely unknown as many discredit what she says because of the questions surrounding Lilith's mental stability. In the words of Lilith, she's married to Lucifer and has a child by him, her daughter Charmion. She lives in a royal palace in Hell where she is worshipped by all of the people being punished there and is regarded as the Queen of Hell.

Lilith is usually found in the woodland, searching for abandoned bodies to feast on. Her favourite is Berlin where she recently bought a derelict mental home to serve as her royal residence in this realm. She is probably most famous for her love to eat dead babies, and more recently, for her dramatic make-over and transformation into somewhat of a fashionista.

Divas Unleashed

Mysteriously arriving in Divas Unleashed in 2004, Lilith's appearance was much talked about. Her discoloured skin laiden with scars from leprosy, visible warts, a collapsed nose cavity, colourless white eyes and sticky jet black hair repulsed both fans and fellow divas. Lilith's appearance overshadowed anything she achieved in the ring as she became the butt of everyone’s jokes.

Lilith's first feud was with Caitlin Fairchild, a fellow menacing monster who stood at 7 foot tall. Regarded as the 'two beasts' of Divas Unleashed, they clashed in a fight that saw Lilith's daughter Charmion powerbombed off the stage and Caitlin’s manager hung by a noose. The feud ended prematurely when Caitlin was sidelined with injury, leaving unfinished business between the two monsters. Caitlin has since left DU.

The Occult

Lilith struck up an unlikely alliance with Katrina when both divas found themselves being outcast by their peers. The duo called themselves "The Occult" and quickly began to deliver dark messages to the roster and claimed they would taking over and seeking revenge for their treatment. They were managed by Kristin Wallace-Hudson and accompanied to the ring by Lilith's daughter Charmion.

The team entered hardship when Katrina decided to pursue single titles to try to complete her belt collection. It was at this time Lilith took an interest in the pervy Exile commentator Renegade. Lilith kidnapped Renegade during an episode of Exile, and the following week they appeared as a couple, with Renegade seemingly brainwashed and responding to every command of Lilith's.

After several months of courting, Lilith announced her plans to marry Renegade at a pay-per-view despite still being 'married' to Lucifer. The wedding went ahead but was mysteriously interrupted by an unknown force, rumoured to be the presence of the Devil himself, and as Lilith suddenly vanished from the ring and everyone in it disappeared with no trace. Only Renegade was left, standing in his boxer shorts, but back to normal.

After Katrina's success in singles divisions dwindled, The Occult joined forces again. The team always associated themselves with each other despite not teaming together, a mutual agreement to look out for each other. In 2005, Katrina 'betrayed' her partner by having her manager Kristin Wallace-Hudson place the belts on herself and her best friend Kristin rather than putting them on The Occult.

This did not break their alliance, although it was strained. Lilith took this oppurtunity to pursue singles titles, making an attempt to capture the Rockford State Championship but ultimately failing. Lilith became more and more frustrated within DU at her lack of success, her partner's relationship with Kristin and the talk surrounding her appearance. Lilith then announced plans to have surgery to change her appearance.

Upon entering 2006, Katrina lost the tag team titles and reunited with Lilith. At this time, Lilith came to the ring cloaked under black clothes having started the surgical procedures to alter her look. The Occult battled Blonde Ambition and Goofy Goths in a three-way feud for the tag belts. Lilith won her first championship at Bitch Bitch Bang Bang by winning the Tag Team Championships.

Inspired by this success, Lilith then announced her new face would be ready to debut a month later at Forsaken Destiny III and she would not be seen before then.

The Makeover

Forsaken Destiny 3 rolled around and Lilith unveiled her new look, to the surprise of many, a black skin-headed woman. The transformation was shocking to many, with a striking facial appearance, new full boobs and a lean body. The Occult retained the tag titles at the event and held them for the rest of 2006.

Unleashed Championship

In late 2006, a tournament for the vacant Unleashed Championship and Lilith was entered. Her first match was a shock victory over former champ Yuku Shiro who was regarded as a favourite for the tournament. Lilith made it into the tournament finals, even overcoming a shady attempt by Krysta Taylor to thwart the Occult's progress. At Passion & Warfare, Lilith defeated Tiger Lily to become the new Unleashed Champion.

This championship victory split up The Occult due to Katrina's jealousy over Lilith's new title. The former partners begun feuding and fighting each other on a weekly basis, blaming each other for their loss of the tag championships and digging out all of their supressed anger from their time teaming together. After a short reign as champion, Lilith lost her championship to Yuku Shiro at Nuclear Pussy 4.

Lilith would remain in the championship scene for a while afterwards, having established herself as a main event star. Lilith had a chance to regain her championship at "Every Bitch But Me", a PPV designed in Lilith's honour (and the second only woman to have a PPV designed in her likeness). However, Felicity was the victor when she defeated Lilith, Katrina and Yuku Shiro to earn her first reign as Unleashed Champion.

The feud with Katrina, however, continued and reached it's climax at Forsaken Destiny 4 where Lilith beat her in a singles match.

Angels of Death

Lilith took a break from Divas Unleashed, wanting time off to recover from a hectic schedule and having acculumated injuries. Lilith blamed these injuries on Katrina, claiming she was "too fucking stiff".

In 2007, Lilith returned to Divas Unleashed after a hyped appearance to recruit the divas Morrigan and Kristina to a new dark stable called "Angels of Death". The aim being Lilith would manage the two divas and guide them to success within DU. However, Lilith soon tired of Morrigan's antics so Kristina and Lilith decided to ditch her. Kristina and Lilith then briefly compeated as a duo until Lilith was sidelined with another injury. Kristina subsequently left the company, and Angels of Death disbanded.

Current Activity

Lilith has recovered from her injury (a torn tricep) but has stated she is not ready to come back to Divas Unleashed, although has hinted at a possible return in 2009.

Fashion Icon & Personal Life

Lilith has been regarded as an unlikely fashion icon within Divas Unleashed. Since her appearance at the FWAs 2007 in a stunning dress with a plunging neckline which was the most talked about dress of the night, and earned her the number 2 spot on Krysta Taylor's Best Dressed list. She graced the cover of Vanity Fair in 2008.

In 2008, Lilith attended the FWAs 2008 in a more conservative outfit. She spent part of the year in Africa, exploring the continent, and pictures of her travels were posted to her MySpace.

Although stating she has no plans to embark on acting, Lilith is rumoured to be considering the offer of a part in an upcoming John Malkovich movie entitled "Interviews with Hideous Men". There are also rumours that Universal Studios are interested in making a horror movie with Lilith in a starring role.

"Orders, my lord?"
—Lilith to Maul[src]

Lilith was a Human female Force-sensitive who served Maul, a Dark Jedi Master who considered her his most trusted lieutenant and the loyalest of all his followers. Maul believed she would stop at nothing to watch civilization burn to the ground. Lilith and Maul's other followers were from the same dark-sided organization, in which she was trained to be completely loyal to her master.[1]

In 22 BBY, during the Invasion of Utapau, Lilith accompanied Maul to Tatooine in search of Utapau's Queen Sabé Arcadia, as well as a Annikin Skywalker. Maul ordered Lilith to kill the members of the Ophuchi Clan and bring Skywalker to him.[1]

Behind the scenes

Lilith is based on Lilith, a figure in Jewish and Mesopotamian lore. Author Brandon Rhea, who created the character for his novel, Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One, stated that those who are familiar with this lore would have some clues as to the significance of the name and how the character will relate to Annikin Skywalker.[2]
