Lightning, sometimes called Thunderbolt or Lit Flash, is a recurring enemy ability in the series. It deals Lightning-elemental damage to the party.

Final Fantasy

Thunderbolt, originally called Thunder, inflicts moderate to massive Lightning-elemental damage to the party, and is used by Shinryu, Cerberus, Tiamat, and Blue Dragon.

Final Fantasy II

Lightning inflicts Lightning-elemental damage to the party, and is mostly used by the powerful Lightning-elemental enemies such as Blue Dragon and Tiamat.

Final Fantasy III

Thunder inflicts moderate Lightning-elemental damage to the party.

Final Fantasy IV

Lightning, originally called Thunder, inflicts moderate Lightning-elemental damage to one character. It is used by mostly bosses in the GBA and DS remakes.

Final Fantasy V

Lightning is an enemy ability used by several enemies and bosses, including Bahamut, Ramuh, and Hydra. It inflicts major Lightning-elemental damage to the party.

Final Fantasy VI

Lightning is an enemy ability used by Apparition, which deals medium physical damage. This is one of the few instances in which Lightning is actually NOT Lightning-elemental.

Final Fantasy VII

Lightning is an enemy ability used by the Thunderbird which inflicts moderate Lightning-elemental damage to the entire party. Thunderbolt, an enemy ability used by Zemzelett, inflicts moderate Lightning-elemental damage to one party member.

Final Fantasy IX

Lightning is an enemy ability used by the Chimera and Worm Hydra, which inflicts a random percentage worth of Lightning-elemental damage to a party member.

Final Fantasy XI

Thunderbolt is an enemy ability used by Behemoths and Raptors, Stunning and dealing Lightning-elemental damage.
