The Lesser Demon is an enemy in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-.

Make sure that Zack is equipped with a Blaze Armlet to nullify the damage from its Fire-based attacks. Hit the Demon with Costly Punch or another strong Command Materia, and do not use any Fire-elemental attacks as it will heal the Demon. Otherwise, use the combination of Graviga and Assault Twister+ to defeat it.

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Lesser demon (also known as a Lesser), is weaker than a Greater demon, but still fairly strong. It has a maximum hit of 8 damage, 79 Hitpoints, and regenerates damage at an average rate of 2 hitpoints per minute.

Players often kill lesser demons because they drop valuable items that can be alched through the High Level Alchemy spell, including the rune med helm (high alched for 11,520 coins).

The lesser demon is the sixth strongest non-revenant, non-quest monster in free-to-play, only to be beaten by Ankous in the Stronghold of Security, level 85 Skeletons in the Stronghold of Security and Wilderness Volcano, Cockroach soldiers in the Stronghold of Player Safety, Greater demons in the Wilderness, and Hellhounds in the Wilderness Volcano. They are very popular monsters to kill. One is fought as a boss in Melzar's Maze during Dragon Slayer to get the Green Key which allows you to get the Map Piece. This is the fourth monster to get the title: Strongest Monster in RuneScape from RuneScape Classic.

Main article: Lesser Demon guide

Lesser demons are very effective training monsters for players that are low to medium leveled (around level 67 But level 78+ is recommended for fighting them). Since Karamja has many fishing spots, food is provided right at the site. Since most level 60 players and above can hit at least 10, they can rapidly do a lot of damage to the lesser. The respawn time of a lesser is quick, which means experience is gained quickly killing them. It is recommended to wear strong armour like adamant or rune however, and that rangers and mages take a few pieces of good food to withstand the first 10 minutes, while the Lesser Demons are aggressive. With Rune Armour and a good weapon, a level 50 player could easily kill one though a few pieces of food may be necessary. It is also a good idea for mages and rangers to find some rocks or any form of barrier in which the Lesser demon's will try but fail to go through to get to you making them sitting ducks to your attacks.

The Lesser demon is affected by the powers of Silverlight (and Darklight) which is as strong as using a Rune longsword (and Dragon longsword respectively) against certain demons. However, it is not recommended to use them, because both weapons are still rather inaccurate. Instead, F2P players are recommended to use a rune weapon, notably the scimitar, longsword or battleaxe. The 2-Handed sword is deadly accurate on demons, but only recommended if you have good defence. Members should use a dragon weapon or barrows weapon; godswords and such weapons are not needed for a monster of this level.

There is a safespot for ranging, maging and halberding in the Taverley Dungeon, which can be used once the demons are no-longer aggressive (ie. after ten minutes.) This is not a multi-combat zone so it is also possible to hide behind other demons. There are also three safespots for ranging, maging, and halberding in the Karamja dungeon that are very useful, however this dungeon sometimes gets crowded on non-member servers. At Crandor there are 2 lesser demons to train on which has few safe spots. This is a good spot for Rangers (wearing full d'hide and using arrows/bolts of steel or better is recommended).

New players who are using Magic or Range can go to the Wizard Tower and kill a caged one. However, many people do this so it can get crowded and the player may not get much experience. If you do use this spot bring a few law runes to tele-grab any good drops such as the rune med helm. If you don't bring any law runes it will be impossible for you to grab any of its drops.

Champions' Challenge

Lesser demons are one of the 'races' who have lesser champions in the Champions' Challenge minigame. To fight the Lesser Demon Champion, the player must kill lesser demons until one drops a Champion scroll, which is a very rare drop.

  • As of the 29 August 2006 update, the lesser demons' looks were tweaked by Jagex, giving the demons a more unique and distinguished look than prior to this update. There are also different "forms" of Lesser demon that look different. Additionally, the Lesser demon in Melzar's Maze is taller than the other Lesser demons. Also after the update the Melzar's Maze lesser appeared glitched due to the fact that Jagex had forgotten to update it. This has been fixed by Jagex.

  • K'ril Tsutsaroth, the boss monster of the Zamorak section of the God Wars Dungeon, is classified as a Lesser Demon, thus killing him counts towards any Lesser Demon Slayer Task, and also allows a player to take advantage of the abilities of a Black Mask, if they have a Lesser Demon Slayer Task.
  • You can buy a Lesser Demon in your Treasure Room in your Player-owned house at level 75, and costs 500,000 coins giving 707 experience. These do not give you any combat or slayer experience, or give any drops.
  • When an update that introduced Karamja was released, this monster was the single most powerful monster in the game. It held this title until the release of the Wilderness introduced the Greater demon.
  • On F2P worlds, the Karamja dungeon is usually crowded where the lesser demons are due to them being a good training monster for F2P players.
  • The lesser demon in Melzar's Maze seems to be taller and have chains around its wrist.
