Laszlo Radford is a lone wastelander only met via random encounter in 2277.

Though he is a named NPC, Laszlo Radford holds no significance in any quest (main, optional, or unmarked) and is not crucial to any in-game plot. He is much like Sam Warrick and A Wanderer in that all three have unique names (opposed to just being called "Wastelander"), but do not influence any other part of the game regardless of how you choose to deal with them (enslave, kill, etc.).

Occupation and Activities

Radford is always marked as hostile and will proceed to attack once the player is within sight. He initially fights with his Railway Rifle, but, due to his lack of Railway Spikes, instantly falls back to his Combat Knife. He will never flee from combat and will take damage until he is killed.

  • Radford can be mezzed.
  • No karma is gained or lost for killing Radford.
  • Radford will not drop an ear or finger.
  • Radford is one of very few NPCs who wields a custom-built weapon.
  • He has some unique chatter just before initiating combat such as, "A man's home is his castle."

Laszlo Radford only appears in Fallout 3.

  • Radford wears glitched Leather Armor. In his inventory, two suits are displayed. Removing either suit will cause the other to disappear, making only one obtainable unless you choose to 'take all', in which case both sets will appear in your inventory.
  • Radford may not immediately attack the player even though he is hostile. He will simply stand idle until activated (talked to).
