Ensign Lasren was a 24th century Starfleet Betazoid officer who served aboard USS Voyager in 2381 as an operations officer. Coming aboard Voyager in 2378, he initially served under Lyssa Campbell, and replaced her after her death that year. (VOY novel: Full Circle)

In 2381, Lasren informed Voyager first officer Tom Paris of an incoming prerecorded message from his father, Owen Paris. (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)

Lasren was on duty while the USS Aventine and the USS Enterprise-E entered a subspace tunnel in the Azure Nebula to locate the Borg staging ground, leaving Voyager in command of the allied fleet to continue to patrol the area. The vessel detected tunnel twenty-six alpha opening, and Tom Paris ordered Lasren to have the IRW Loviatar and the IKS Ya'Vang come about to guard their flanks. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)
