James Baker (born September 26th, 1983) is an American professional wrestler, currently wrestling for the Classic Wrestling Federation and WrestleZone Championship Wrestling where he is a former WZCW Mayhem Champion and a former CWF Unified Champion.
Baker is more known for competing in Elite Class Championship Wrestling where he is a 7 time ECCW World Heavyweight Champion, a 2 time ECCW Television Champion, a former ECCW Hardcore Champion and a 3 time ECCW World Tag Team Champion with Phillip Mustang. Baker was also one half of the reincarnated version of The Driveby Express with Kyle Christiansen for WrestleZone Championship Wrestling.
Baker also worked for No-Limit Wrestling Entertainment (NWE) for a short time before the fed went on a lengthy hiatus. Baker also worked for Fusion Championship Wrestling for a short time until he let his short term contract expire. Baker also worked for D-Generation XX. It's unknown whether the promotion will ever come back or not. Baker also worked for Shining Road until for some reason the promotion folded.
Baker was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but had gotten into trouble many times when he was a youth so his parents made him move out to California where he discovered the life of being a hustler & a gangsta. Baker then returned to Texas and by the time he turned 8 years old, he joined up with a local gang and not too long after that, he took over leadership of the gang known as the Southside Kingz while starting dealing drugs. By the time Baker turned 13, everything around him was falling apart as his girlfriend at the time cheated on him, he got kicked off the football team for marijuana use and later on his family found out about his life as a hustler.
In 2003, Baker completed his stint of drug rehabilitation and with the help of then ECCW Chairman Jack Conway. Baker got his hand into wrestling and eventually signed a contract with Conway's Elite Class Championship Wrestling. After his contract signing, Baker made his ECCW debut as a face and had his first match up with future rival/tag team partner/future multiple time ECCW World Heavyweight Champion Phillip Mustang where Baker picked up his first of many victories to come by defeating Mustang with a roll up and the two future rivals shaked hands after the match up.
From that match, Baker then defeated various opponents such as Sean Jamison, Metal, Shocker, The Afro Kid, Alex Brand, Ron Bridges, Efran Ortiz, Kevin Ortiz, Jesse Ortiz, Carlos Ortiz, Chad Smith and Grandmaster Steve and also winning the 2003 Rumble match at ECCW Pay-Per-View The Rumble before gaining his first ever shot at the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship against Joseph Ortiz. At ECCW Pay Per View Revenge, Baker defeated Joseph Ortiz to win his first ECCW World Heavyweight Championship.
Once Baker defeated Joseph Ortiz for the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship, Baker then moved into a feud with Phillip Mustang where their feud kept ECCW alive and in the spotlight for the next few years. At ECCW's next pay per view Redemption, Baker successfully defended his ECCW World Heavyweight Championship against Mustang by defeating him with Da Xtreme Knockout and making Baker 2-0 against Mustang. The next night on their weekly show War Zone, Baker and Mustang teamed up and defeated Kevin and Efran Ortiz to become the new ECCW World Tag Team Champions and in process making Baker a double champion and bringing the company to new highs.
At ECCW's next pay per view Starstruck, Baker pulled double duty as not only did he and Mustang retain the ECCW World Tag Team Championships over J-Flex and Johnny Seedz, but Baker also successfully retain the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship over Alex Brand. The next night on War Zone, Baker and Mustang lost the ECCW World Tag Team Championship back to Kevin and Efran Ortiz following a miscommunication from Baker and Mustang.
A week later on War Zone, Baker defended his ECCW World Heavyweight Championship and lost it to Mustang. Baker then turned heel after the match by attacking Mustang from behind and eventually laying him out with a Brainbuster onto the Steel Steps after he had celebrated with Mustang. For weeks following the attack on Mustang, Baker cut numerous promos on how Mustang wasn't a team player and how the fans turned their backs on him by siding with a loser like Mustang and that Mustang will never, ever be as great of a wrestler as him. During that same time, Baker had adopted Da Xtreme Gangsta nickname that he would eventually become famous for.
At ECCW's Pay Per View Breakdown, Baker regained the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Mustang by submission after Baker made Mustang tap out to his new submission hold called Tha Notorious Clutch. Following the pay per view, Baker's wrestling style had turned more aggressive as he now brought a spiked out baseball bat to his arsenal & used it against his opponents whenever the opportunity presented itself. At Summer Smash, Baker defended and again lost the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship to Mustang after Mustang defeated him with the Mustang Express.
The following pay per view Bloody Glory, Baker retained his ECCW World Heavyweight Championship to begin his third reign as champion by defeating Phillip Mustang following interference by Kevin Styles and J.T. Banks. The following night on War Zone, Baker formed a stable with Styles and Banks called Da Xtreme Dynasty. Baker proclaimed that Da Xtreme Dynasty will take over the ECCW by storm. Baker and Da Xtreme Dynasty made good on that proclamation by not only Baker having the longest ECCW World Heavyweight Championship reign in ECCW history at that moment, but also Styles and Banks defeated Kevin and Efran Ortiz for the ECCW World Tag Team Championship as well.
From then Baker and Mustang resumed their rivalry and for several months they competed against each other in numerous matches like a Dog Collar match, a First Blood match, a TLC Match, a Hangman's Horror match and a Steel Cage Match where Baker won every match except the Steel Cage match which Mustang defeated Baker to regain the ECCW World Heavyweight Title at Bloody Glory. The next night on War Zone, Baker challenged Mustang to defend the title one last time against him at ECCW's Night Of Champions in a match he calls Da Xtreme Death Match.
Over the next several weeks, Baker and Mustang played a game of one upping each other as both of them defeated the opponents that the other set up infront of them. At Night Of Champions, Baker defeated Mustang in Da Xtreme Death Match to win the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship for the 5th time in his career. After the match, Baker showed Mustang a sign of respect by shaking his hand and ending their long and storied rivalry.
After his feud with Phillip Mustang came to an end, Baker then set his sights on trying to gain the other ECCW Championships by first targeting the ECCW Television Championship which was held at the time by Juan Martinez. Baker then defeated Martinez on War Zone to begin his first reign at ECCW Television Champion. The next week on War Zone, Baker then went after the ECCW Hardcore Championship and defeated Mario Johnson to win his first and only ECCW Hardcore Championship. By that point Baker decided to become generous and gave Kevin Styles the ECCW Hardcore Championship and he gave J.T. Banks the ECCW Television Championship just so he can focus on defending his ECCW World Heavyweight Championship.
Baker then entered a feud with The Afro Kid and at Locked Up, Baker lost his ECCW World Heavyweight Championship to The Afro Kid. The feud spanned for a couple of more weeks and it ended with Baker regaining the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating The Afro Kid at Sacrifice to begin his 6th reign as ECCW World Heavyweight Champion. Baker then entered a feud with Sean Jamison and at The Rumble, Baker lost the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship to Jamison. The next night on War Zone, Baker defeated Jamison in screw job like fashion after Baker and Da Xtreme Dynasty had a crooked referee to help Baker win the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship for the 7th time. At ECCW pay per view Redemption, Baker lost the ECCW World Heavyweight Championship to Jamison to end Baker's final reign as Champion.
The next night on War Zone, Baker beat down both Kevin Styles and J.T. Banks and ended Da Xtreme Dynasty. The following week on War Zone, Baker decimated his former Xtreme Dynasty teammate J.T. Banks and defeated him to begin his 2nd reign as the ECCW Television Champion. That very same night, Baker then reformed The Driveby Express with his former rival Phillip Mustang who by then turned into a heel by helping Baker beat down both Styles and J.T. Banks. Baker and Mustang had won 2 more ECCW World Tag Team Championships by defeating Styles and Banks on two separate occasions. Baker and Mustang vacated the ECCW World Tag Team Championships after ECCW went out of business and The Driveby Express was once again broken up. Baker also had to vacate the ECCW Television Championship after ECCW went out of business. Baker then took a near 3 year hiatus from professional wrestling after ECCW went out of business.
After a near 3 year hiatus from wrestling, Baker then signed a contract with WZCW. Baker made his official WZCW debut as a heel at Meltdown 18 as one of the newcomers in the Elite X Battle Royal. Unfortunately for Baker, he was eliminated rather quickly by USA.
On Meltdown 19, Baker formed a tag team with "The One & Only" Kyle Christiansen to recreate The Driveby Express and later that night they went on to defeat Garth Black and Phoenix when Christiansen hit Phoenix with The One and Only for the victory. On Meltdown 20, Baker and Christiansen competed against the tag team of USA and Anoki, but Baker and Christiansen were defeated when Anoki pinned Christiansen following the Eagle Drive. On MD21, Baker faced USA with Baker successfully defeating USA by pinning him following the All Eyez On Me (Shooting Star Press).
At WZCW pay per view Unscripted, Baker and Christiansen then competed in a 5 way tag team match for an opportunity at the then vacant WZCW World Tag Team Championship, but Baker and Christiansen barely came close when Ace pins David Cougar to give The Full House Dave's the victory and the titles. Also at Unscripted, Baker then revealed his surprise ally in bringing his friend/agent Malik Jones to help guide him to success. On MD22, Baker and Christiansen faced TM and David Cougar, but unfortunately Baker and Christiansen lost after Cougar made Baker tap out to the Texas Cloverleaf. On MD23, Baker and Christian again faced the tag team of Garth Black and Phoenix, but Baker and Christiansen were defeated when Garth Black pinned an injured Christiansen for the victory. Baker has since gotten back to singles action after Kyle Christiansen got injured at MD23.
At MD24, Baker was defeated by USA. At MD25, Baker then went back to the tag team division and teamed up with Rush to take on the team of Murfish and Celeste Crimson, but the team ultimately lost after Rush betrayed Baker by not partaking in the match up which at that point, a possible face turn was being presented for Baker, but nothing came of it though. At WZCW's pay per view Civil Revolution, Baker was defeated by Rush to continue Baker's losing streak. On the first edition of WZCW Ascension, Baker reformed his team with Kyle Christiansen and faced the tag team of Garth Black and Phoenix, but the reformed team lost after Baker had his ankle shattered in storyline and Malik Jones was locked in the Black Death. James Baker asked for his release from his WZCW Contract on July 29th, 2009 due to some personal demons that were going on in his life. WZCW management has given Baker the open door to return to the company once Baker has his personal life sorted out.
At Meltdown 31, Baker made his WZCW return as a face as he competed in a triple threat match up against Rush and Ty Burna for the WZCW Mayhem Championship. Baker became the WZCW Mayhem Champion as he pinned Rush to earn his third victory in WZCW and become a double champion as he now holds championships for both WZCW and the CWF. At Lethal Lottery II, Baker was involved in the Lethal Lottery Match for a main event match at Kingdom Come as he was the #15 entrant in the match and he lasted until the final entrant, but he was eliminated by Titus. On Ascension 7, Baker defended his WZCW Mayhem Championship against Mr. Baller in his first title defense and defeated Mr. Baller by hitting him with Da Xtreme Dynasty in mid air through the table to retain the title.
On Ascension 8, Baker competed in his first WZCW main event as he defended his WZCW Mayhem Championship against Excellency and Matt Royale and got the victory after he pinned Excellency following a chair shot that sent Royale out of the ring. On Ascension 9, Baker again successfully defended his WZCW Mayhem Championship against Excellency as he defeated him with the All Eyez on Me. After the match, Baker was congratulated by a few members of the WZCW Roster, while Karnage grunts at his efforts which led into a Blade and Karnage confrontation. On Ascension 10, Baker defended his title against Excellency, Hunter Kravinoff, Mr. Baller, The Killjoy and John Smith in a Mayhem Six Pack Challenge, but lost the title as The Killjoy pinned John Smith to win the belt.
On the Meltdown/Ascension megashow, Baker will team up with his rival Mr. Baller to take on John Smith and Hunter Kravinoff in a Mayhem Rules Tag Team Match. Baker will also participate in the Mayhem Scramble for an opportunity to regain the WZCW Mayhem Championship.
After only a couple of hours after being granted his wish on being released from his WZCW Contract, Baker then signed a contract to wrestle for the CWF in what can only be described as a turning point for both Baker's career and the CWF as a company. Baker also decided to bring his friend/agent Malik Jones with him to CWF and to try to achieve the success that the duo couldn't achieve together in WZCW. Baker then debuted in CWF as a heel and was involved in a feud with Mariano Fernandez after Baker lost a singles match against Mariano on the June 20th edition of Showdown.
Baker then made his return to pay-per-view at Summer Smash as Baker took on Mariano and newcomer Terry Richards in a triple threat match up, but unfortunately for Baker, he lost the match up after being pinned by Mariano following a Yakuza kick after Baker hit Richards with a roll of quarters. Baker then became involved in a feud with Richards while his feud with Mariano became more heated and personal.
Baker then made an appearance on the first ever edition of Late Night with Bobby Crane where Baker had his agent Malik Jones speak on his behalf and Baker's segment on the Bobby Crane show ended when Baker smashed the camera with his spiked out baseball bat. On the July 18th edition of Showdown, Baker competed in another triple threat match up as he faced Richards and Vegas. Baker then won the match by pinning Richards via Da Xtreme Knockout (Snap DDT) to earn his first CWF victory and the feud with Richards died out a bit after that. At CWF pay-per-view Scars & Stripes, Baker competed in another triple threat match up as his opponents were his rival Mariano Fernandez and Drastic, unfortunately for Baker, he got eliminated early when Mariano hit him with a Tombstone Piledriver.
On the events prior to the August 1st edition of Showdown, Baker kidnapped Mariano's then girlfriend Nagase and then took her to an undisclosed location where she was gagged and taped up for a while. Also on the August 1st edition of Showdown, Baker competed in a battle royal to determine the new number 1 contender for the CWF World Heavyweight Championship. Baker put on a good showing in the match up by making it to the final 4, but his rival Mariano Fernandez then eliminated him from the match up.
On the events prior to the August 8th edition of Showdown, Baker's feud with Mariano Fernandez came to an end when Baker attempted to give Mariano his then girlfriend Nagase and the two then proceeded to shake hands, but Nagase then betrayed Mariano. She then attempted to get into a relationship with Baker, but Baker immediately rejected Nagase and instead took Mariano's side which turned Baker into a fan favorite for the first time in over 6 years. Also on the August 8th edition of Showdown, Baker teamed up with Motion and together they defeated the team of Paul Blair and T-Money when Motion got the pin over due to Blair kicking T-Money with the Blairkick.
On the August 15th editon of Showdown, Baker faced Vincent Vegas in a one on one contest and Baker came out of the match up with a victory via count out after Vegas walked to the back. Baker's character has also had a slight tweak to it as his psychotic side of the character was revealed to be his alter ego which he named his alter ego Killer. Baker has also begun to wear face paint on some occasions while Baker also cut off his long black hair to sport the buzzcut haircut that he had back in ECCW. On the August 22nd edition of Showdown, Baker faced Blair in a one on one contest and Baker came out of the match up with a victory via count out as Blair just stood on the ramp and in turn, the count out victory cemented Baker's status as the most feared wrestler in the CWF and earned Baker his 3rd consecutive victory and it also sparked a feud with Blair as well as further cementing his status as a fan favorite.
At CWF pay per view Global Warning, Baker received his first shot at CWF gold as he faced off against Axel Way and then current CWF Unified Champion Sickboy for the CWF Unified Championship, but Baker came up just short as he was pinned by Axel Way. Baker then faced off against Paul Blair and Chemical X on the September 12th edition of Showdown, Baker won the match by pinning Blair following Da Xtreme Knockout which in the process also ended his minor feud with Blair.
Also it is being reported that Baker will be placed in a tag team with his wife Danielle Lopez once she makes her CWF debut. On the September 19th edition of Showdown, Baker was scheduled to go one on one with Angelus, but Keith Daniels said that Angelus supposedly 'missed his flight' and Baker was then awarded the victory via count out. On CWF's Pay-Per-View Fall Fever, Baker competed in another one on one match up with Angelus. Baker defeated Angelus following Da Xtreme Knockout for his 3rd consecutive victory and also his first PPV win since the ECCW Finale show on April 23rd, 2006.
There have been some rumors spreading around on various wrestling websites and magazines that Baker plans to form a stable to help him take down the newly reunited Horsemen (which Baker's rival Terry Richards is apart of) with himself and his wife Danielle Lopez being the two already confirmed members of the stable. The rumors have also stated that Baker has reached out to current CWF World Heavyweight Champion Pledge Allegiance and to former opponent Chemical X to be a part of his stable despite Baker's wife Danielle Lopez and Pledge's girlfriend Trixie Lee currently being involved in a feud with each other. However none of those rumors had any merit to it.
On the October 3rd edition of Showdown, Baker resumed his rivalry with Terry Richards as he challenged Richards for the CWF Unified Championship, but unfortunately Baker lost the match up to Richards thanks to Sickboy hitting Baker in the head with the CWF National Championship belt. On the October 10th edition of Showdown for the very first time, Baker teamed up with his wife Danielle Lopez to take on the team of Trixie Lee and the CWF World Heavyweight Champion Pledge Alligence in a mixed tag team match, but the team lost when Pledge Alligence pinned Baker after hitting him with the Pledge Hammer.
Recently with both Kevin Styles and J.T. Banks signed on to the CWF roster, Baker said that Da Xtreme Dynasty will be reunited to not only take the tag team division by storm, but they will also be a force to be reckoned with. The reunited version of the stable will consist of James Baker, Danielle Lopez, J.T. Banks and Kevin Styles. On the October 17th edition of Showdown, Baker went one on one with the 500 pound giant Magnus Thunder, but Baker unfortunately lost badly to Magnus Thunder after Magnus Thunder hit Baker with The Thunderstorm. On the October 24th edition of Showdown, Baker went one on one with Horsemen member "The Radiant One" Roland Ulv, but Baker came up just short as Roland played possum with Baker and hit him with the Radiant Plex to win the match.
On October 31st at Night of Champions III: Halloween Extreme. Baker faced Terry Richards in a ladder match for the CWF Unified Championship and defeated him to extend his Night of Champions record to 5 wins and 0 losses and became a champion for the first time in a little over 3 years as he defeated Richards for the title due to The Horsemen interfering on Baker's behalf by kicking Richards out of the stable. Rob Osbourne also hit Baker with the Badd Dream onto the CWF Unified Championship belt after the match had ended.
On the November 7th edition of Showdown, Baker went one on one with the leader of The Horsemen "Nitemare" Rob Osbourne in a non title match up, but lost the match due to interference by Jimmy Blast. On the November 14th edition of Showdown, Baker defended his CWF Unified Championship against Bob Osbourne, but unfortunately lost the title when Osbourne nailed him with the Badd Dream. Earlier that night, Baker then formed The Doubtful Alliance with Terry Richards (Combining Da Xtreme Dynasty and The Richards Legion together for the sole propose of bringing down The Horsemen).
On the November 21st edition of Showdown, Baker teamed up with his rival Terry Richards to take on Horsemen members Rob Osbourne and Jimmy Blast and both Baker and Richards won the match by disqualification as Osbourne nailed both Baker & Blast with the Osbournesault. At Battle to Survive, Baker teamed up with his brother in-law Enrique Lopez and fellow Doubtful Alliance members Alex and Chris Richards to take on the team of Chemical X, Sickboy, CWF Unified Champion Bob Osbourne and Death Squad's own Bruno, but Baker's team came out on the losing end as Baker was the final man eliminated when Chemical X hit Baker with the GFY (Go Fuck Yourself) for the win and the three count. On the December 5th edition of Showdown from Japan, Baker went one on one with Blood and lost when Baker tapped out to the Blood Lock. On the December 12th edition of Showdown, Baker went one on one with the debuting Leon Lonewolf and got the victory with Da Xtreme Knockout. After the match, Rob Osbourne hit both Baker & Lonewolf with the Badd Dream.
After the triple threat tag team match on the January 2nd edition of Showdown, Baker made the save for Styles and Banks as he was pummeling both Alex and Chris Richards. Just as Baker was gonna hit the two with a Double Da Xtreme Knockout, Terry Richards came onto the screen and revealed that he was the one who kidnapped Enrique Lopez. This also marked the end of The Doubtful Alliance.
As a result of the events, the original members of Da Xtreme Dynasty will team up for the first time in 5 years as they'll take on all 3 members of The Richards Legion in a 6 man tag team match at Last Man Standing. In addition to the 6 man tag team match, Baker will also compete in the last man standing battle royal to possibly gain a shot at the CWF World Heavyweight Championship. Baker's team lost the 6 man tag team match when Terry pinned Banks following the Shock Turn II. Baker also lasted a while in the battle royal, but was eliminated by Tige after The Richards Legion's bodyguard Trent Walker caused the distraction. On the January 23rd edition of Showdown, Baker teamed up with his wife Danielle Lopez to take on Terry Richards and Ashley Mastrangelo, but the match ended in a no contest as all hell broke loose after The Richards Legion prevented Baker from doing the All Eyez on Me. On the second edition of the Late Night with Bobby Crane Show, Baker and Da Xtreme Dynasty made an appearance where it was revealed that Baker kidnapped Terry Richards' sister Hikari with Baker also throwing out some demands while Styles and Banks had tension with Bobby Crane.
With Baker being a major CWF wrestler, Baker then made a deal to sign with independent wrestling promotion No-Limit Wrestling Entertainment to wrestle for them. Baker first arrived at the September 7th edition of Warfare as a face as he was scheduled to take on Randy Orton, but with Orton being shockingly released, Baker then didn't have a match up for the show. Also later on in the show he turned into a heel by joining The Pact. Baker teamed up with CM Punk on the same night to compete for the NWE World Tag Team Championship against reigning champions Alex Stevens and Christian Cage, but unfortunately Baker & Punk just came up short when Stevens pinned Punk to win the match.
Baker was then scheduled to face Kyle Kross on the September 14th edition of Warfare, but not only has the match up not taken place yet, but the NWE as a company has apparantly been put on hold for the time being. The fed recently resurrected & Baker was offered a spot to rejoin the roster, but Baker has respectfully turned down the offer to rejoin the NWE.
In October 2009, Baker then signed a contract to appear for Fusion Championship Wrestling. It's unknown whether this is a full time deal, a part time deal or a special appearances deal. Baker made his FCW debut on the November 2nd edition of Genocide as a tweener as he faced off against "The British Bruiser" Dan Charles, Frank Finelly, Darkside, Keiji Sparrow and Zack Graham in an Elimination match. Baker however came up short as Zack Graham pinned Darkside to win the match.
On the November 9th edition of Genocide, Baker went one on one with Seth Jacobs and their match ended in a double count out. On the November 16th edition of Genocide, Baker went one on one with Anthony Royal and lost. Baker then announced his departure from FCW.
After having long talks with his new found friend Terrell Odom, Baker was convinced to sign a contract with DXX. Baker will debut with the company as a tweener and it's very likely that he'll be a part of Odom's stable T.R.U, but it's unknown whether Baker has signed a short term deal or a long term deal, but it is a verbal contract since his CWF and WZCW contracts aren't exclusive. Due to his commitments to WZCW and CWF, it's unknown when Baker's first DXX match will be. DXX folded after Baker signed with the company and the company was eventually revamped as DXX | Recharged. Baker has also been offered another deal to compete for DXX, but it's unsure of whether he's gonna accept the deal or not.
In December of 2009, Baker then made the decision to sign a contract with Shining Road. On Shining Fight Series #1, Baker went one on one with his rival turned fellow Doubtful Alliance captain Terry Richards and unfortunately came out on the losing end of the match when Richards hit him with the Shock Turn. On Shining Fight Series #2, Baker was scheduled to go one on one with The Iron Orca, but the match was cancelled when the company disappeared for some unknown reason.
Baker was 16 years old when his ex girlfriend Amber Jones gave birth to his son Trey (both James and Amber agreed that Trey would be named after James and also have Trey's last name be Baker to carry on James' namesake). Baker is now married to his long time girlfriend Danielle Lopez who is the sister of Baker's former rival and tag team partner Phillip Mustang. Lopez gave birth to her and Baker's daughter Ashley on June 28th, 2009. Baker currently resides in San Diego, California with his wife Danielle Lopez, their baby daughter Ashley and Baker's son Trey. Baker is also best friends with his agent Malik Jones and fellow ECCW alumnus C-Low. Baker has also recently become friends with DXX Wrestler and fellow Compton/fellow Texas Native Terrell Odom. It is also known that Baker is apart of the now famous Baker/Lopez wrestling family where is one of 5 active wrestlers that are currently related to each other. Baker is also the cousin of 6 time ECCW Womens Champion and 2 time XWF Womens Champion Ashley Rose.
In addition to his wrestling career, Baker is also a rapper as he records music with his free time. Baker has said that rappers like Eminem, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Ice Cube and Eazy E have been a huge inspiration for him to attempt to become a successful rapper. Like the majority of the old school rappers, Baker has heavily dissed today's watered down version of mainstream hip hop. Baker was quoted as saying, "Mainstream hip hop today is a disgrace to what the true meanin' of hip hop really is. I mean you see rappers like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, the GS Boyz, the New Boyz and alot of these mainstream rappers and rap groups today just takin' a fuckin' shit on the legacy and prestige that rappers like 2Pac, Biggie, N.W.A. Run DMC and many many more old school rappers that worked hard to make hip hop into somethin' and it fuckin' pisses me off to no fuckin' end that their hard work is bein' shitted on by all this whack shit that's bein' put out there to the public.". It has been rumored that Baker will release his debut album entitled "In Da Mind of an Xtreme Gangsta: Volume Mutha Fuckin' 1 and it might be released either under Dr Dre's Aftermath Entertainment or Eminem's Shady Records.
Baker is also an avid sports fan as his favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Rangers.
Baker has stated that once his active in-ring career comes to an end, then he wants to own and operate his own wrestling promotion. James has stated that it'll happen sometime down the road and has stated that he'll either bring back ECCW or just start a new promotion directly from scratch.
Among the CWF Roster, besides having Malik Jones & his wife Danielle Lopez as his allies, Baker and Mariano Fernandez have reached an understanding with each other after the extremely violent and disturbing feud they had with each other and now they respect each other as allies. Mariano also has plenty of respect for Baker's wife Danielle. Baker also apologized to Mariano about naming him "The Mexican Jumping Bean". Baker also has respect for fellow CWF Superstars Axel Way. Sickboy, "Nitemare" Rob Osbourne and to an extent despite their feud with each other, he also respects Paul Blair. In turn, Baker is also one of the more respected wrestlers in the world as he's never had a behind the scenes issue with any of his fellow wrestlers, he's never used any backstage politics to his advantage and he's never had a problem with either putting someone over or losing a match. Baker is also willing to work for any other wrestling federations as long as they don't put high-pressure on him and conflict with his commitments to the CWF.
Recently Baker has started a promo series called "Shootin' On The Game" where Baker shoots on various topics including shootin' on his upcoming opponents. Baker's first episode of the series was when he shoots on Kanye West's incident at the MTV VMA's and the state of mainstream hip hop while in the second episode of the series he disses one of his former employers, some wrestlers that he's wrestled with & he disses Kyle Sync and Jay Matthews while praising current employer Classic Wrestling Federation and giving praise to Axel Way, Mariano Fernandez, "Nitemare" Rob Osbourne and Sickboy among notable CWF stars and legends and he also says that the entire CWF Roster can easily blow the majority of any federation's roster out of the water.
On the 3rd episode of the series, Baker disses Jessica Simpson, the favoritism that NFL Referees have for certain NFL Teams (Steelers, Patriots and Giants) and how they screw over other teams (Cowboys and Raiders) along with explaining his hate towards the Philadelphia Eagles and he also shoots on his Fall Fever opponent Angelus. The 4th episode of the series was an all CWF edition of the show as James discussed gang warfare in the CWF, his predictions on what's gonna happen at CWF's Fall Fever and of course addressing his opponent Angelus. Baker also nearly got robbed before the show began, but Baker murdered the guy and nothing in his home was taken. Baker has said that the show will not air a new episode for a while due to the possibility of it being stale and repetitive. Baker also said that the show is not canceled and he has also said in multiple interviews that the series will be a bit more extreme and controversial real soon once the 5th episode airs.
The 5th episode of "Shootin' On The Game" finally aired and James discussed the horrendous sales of the Kyle Sync DVD, whether Pledge Alligence will interfere in the Danielle Lopez vs Trixie Lee match up and of course he shot on Terry Richards as well. The 6th episode of the series features Baker shooting on the horrific weightlifting accident with USC Running Back Stafon Johnson, the spectacular catch made by Colorado Rockies infielder Clint Barmes and of course the accident that Terry Richards was involved in. The 7th episode of the series was an all CWF edition as Baker gives out his predictions for each match on Showdown, he shoots on Pledge Allegiance and his wife Danielle shoots on Trixie Lee.
The 8th episode of the series featured a discussion on the fall of Krispy Kreme Dounuts, Tyra Banks' weight loss, predictions on what would happen for the October 17th edition of Showdown and the episode concluded with James shootin' on his Night of Champions III: Halloween Extreme opponent Terry Richards and his Showdown opponent Magnus Thunder. The 9th episode of the series featured all of the members of Da Xtreme Dynasty attempting to stir the pot against Degradation and The Richards Legion. Baker also had 2 fans as guests on the show and each of those fans gave their predictions about what will happen at Night of Champions III: Halloween Extreme. Ever since the national television airing of the 9th episode of the show. The series future has been in doubt as on that episode Baker and his Da Xtreme Dyansty teammates Kevin Styles and J.T. Banks repeatedly used the word faggot (James claims that the word faggot was aimed towards rival stable The Horsemen). The show was kicked off of the website that they were operating under. Baker and his stable were banned from letting "Shootin' on the Game" appear on national television. It was reported that both Baker and his agent/friend Malik Jones were in negotiations with Comedy Central about letting them air the show on their network, but Baker went off the record to state that the "Shootin' on the Game" series has officially ended due to Baker wanting to focus squarely on his in-ring career.
In multiple interviews and a few episodes of "Shootin' On The Game", Baker has had a disdain for current CWF Mega Jobber Kyle Sync. Baker was quoted at saying: "Oh yeah it's his way of life actually and Kyle Sync is also a fuckin' faggot." Baker has also said some more comments such as: "I also hope that her food won't make me go to the bathroom and cause me to take a Kyle Sync." Baker has expressed a desire to "beat the livin' dog shit" out of Kyle in a future CWF event. Baker has also said to the New York Times that "I know that I may be a little bit of a cocky wrestler, but I have earned the right to be cocky as I am a 7 time World Heavyweight Champion in this profession, what the fuck has Kyle Sync done in wrestling? Wait I know, he's done jack and shit in professional wrestling. So I suggest to Kyle to shut his cocky mouth, grow a set of nuts and actually do somethin' that's worth a fuckin' shit in wrestling instead of just talkin' about it." In that same interview with the New York Times, Baker has also expressed a desire to face a healthy Paul Blair and a healthy Gary "Chemical X" Scarletti.
During his career, Baker has ran into some controversial moments when he's away from the wrestling ring. The list is below.
For his entire career, Baker's attire has reflected the most current thug fashions and stylings within the hip hop culture that his character is. Baker has said that his chosen fashion not only represents what his character is about, but it also reflects on his early life and his past as it's been documented of his troubled days as a youth. Baker's fashion of choice includes wearing throwback Dallas Cowboys Jerseys, a throwback Michael Jordan #23 Chicago Bulls Jersey, a Dirk Nowitzki #41 Dallas Mavericks Jersey and as recently as Night of Champions III: Halloween Extreme, Baker has started wearing his very own "Da Xtreme Gangsta" James Baker t-shirt and a Da Xtreme Dynasty t-shirt that his new clothing line called "The James Baker Clothing Line" produced both of the t-shirts.
He also wears multiple long chains on his neck with the more notable chain being a Platinum Long Chain with a cross pendant on it. Baker says that he wears that necklace in tribute to all of his deceased relatives that have passed away over the years. Baker also wears either Baggy Black Phat Farm Jeans, Baggy Blue Phat Farm Jeans or Black Dickies while he wrestles and usually accompanies that with either White Phat Farm Shoes or Black Lugz Boots.
Baker has also stated that he will never ever wear speedo's or tights in his wrestling career as he said that wearing those would make him look like a faggot.

“Hail Mary” by 2Pac plays throughout the arena, strobe lights blinking a vary of colors as the crowd in attendance stand to their singing along to the lyrics of the song and just going crazy. Smoke starts hitting the ramp, fulfilling throughout the bottom level attendance. Cameras hit the entrance ramp, as out from behind of the mega tron, headlights on high beams coming into view through all of the smog cruises a Black 64 Impala, switches slamming to the ground. The camera then switches to "Da Xtreme Gangsta" James Baker who is decked out in a white Emmitt Smith #22 Dallas Cowboys Jersey, black dickies and a black bandana on his head as he's driving the car
The lowrider makes its way down the ramp, James is playing up to the audience as the audience giving off more positive feedback towards him, James then hits the car’s hydraulic switches once again, causing the car to bounce up and down before the nose of the car makes a stop right in front of the ring. The car then moves side to side, before halting in positon.
James opens his door, getting out of the car reaching into the upholstery to pick out a 40 ounce bottle of Beer wrapped in a white bandana. James then slaps hands with the fans at the corner of the barricade's and then steps in between the ropes to get inside of the ring. James then hops on the top turnbuckle and plays up to the audience a little more by throwing up the West Side Signal with his left hand while he takes a drink of his 40 ounce bottle of Beer with his right hand. Once James does that, he hops off the ropes & then kneels down in the corner while he awaits for his opponent.
WZCW Entrance Description

Walks in between the ropes and starts playing up to the fans even more as he goes to the top turnbuckle & raises his arms up.
KLR-B1, or Killer as he was eventually known as, was the first prototype KLR series combat droid. During the initial system trials, the technicians discovered flaws in the KLR series' software programming which had allowed them to bypass their failsafes. Though they attempted to shut down all four of the droids, KLR-B1 managed to escape this process and proceeded to kill all base personnel shortly after the Separatist attack on Tembora. Since this time, small starships periodically crashed on the rogue planetoid and any surviving crewmembers who made it to the Tembora Research Station were swiftly killed by KLR-B1. At first he killed them swiftly, but soon learned that toying with them and drawing out their deaths was much more satisfying.
When members of the Maid of Sentiile sent a recon group to the base and discovered that it was abandoned, the full crew of the ship proceeded to enter the base. It was not until some members had already managed to load KLR-B2, KLR-B3, and KLR-B4 onto their transport that KLR-B1 attacked and killed the entire recon team. Some of the other crew members managed to escape with the three other prototypes, and KLR-B1 kept Gillon alive to torture him with a portable plasma torch in the med room. Fortunately for Gillon, a group of Rebels crashed onto the planet soon after the Maid did and, upon being attacked twice by KLR-B1, managed to destroy him and flee the planet with Gillon.
