Publisher's Summary

Hurrah! The deadly Daleks are back! Yes, those loveable tinpot tyrants have another plan to invade our world. Maybe this time because they want to drill to the Earth’s core. Or maybe because they just feel like it.

And when those pesky pepperpots are in town, there is one thing you can be sure of. There will be non-stop high octane mayhem in store. And plenty of exterminations!

But never fear. The Doctor is on hand to sort them out. Defender of the Earth, saviour of us all. With his beautiful assistant, Evelyn Smythe, by his side, he will fight once again to uphold the beliefs of the English Empire. All hail the glorious English Empire!

Now that sounds like a jubilee worth celebrating, does it not?

Cast

References

  • In Daleks: The Ultimate Adventure (on the alternate Earth), it stars the Doctor and "Evelyn 'Hot Lips' Smythe" played by "Plenty O'Toole."
  • Rochester has a functioning Dalek transolar disc.
  • Dalek juice is made from the secretions of the Dalek as it is tortured.
  • Dalek ade is just a flavoured drink...with an image of a Dalek on the bottle.
  • This is pretty much a paradox.
  • If the Doctor and Evelyn hadn't arrived in 1903, then the Daleks would have invaded.
  • However, the Doctor and Evelyn do land...for a moment and are ejected from the TARDIS and are stuck in 1903 during the Dalek invasion of Earth...they save the day...and are still stuck there.
  • However...they also re-land in 2003 and by their actions stop the invasion before it starts in 1903.

Notes

  • Robert Shearman adapted this audio to write Dalek for Series 1.
  • Jane Goddard and Kai Simmons have characters named for their surnames in Dalek.
  • In Torchwood and in Dalek there are Jubilee Pizza pizza boxes as a homage to this story.

Continuity

  • There is another instance of alternate futures coming as dreams (and involving the Daleks) in The Time of the Daleks.

Jubilee was a Rebel officer who served on board the Rebel blockade runner that was transporting Princess Leia Organa to the Shiva system in order to gather information on Imperial activity there. As Captain Chedaki and Leia were about to launch a shuttle craft, it was hit by a space mine which critically damaged the shuttle and killed Chedaki. Jubilee was about to help Leia out of the shuttle so they could jettison it before its fire could spread, but he was made aware that the firing mechanism was damaged and the only way they could jettison the shuttle was from inside. Before Jubilee could react, Leia slammed the shuttle door and launched the damaged shuttle in order to save the others on the blockade runner.
