John Stratton (7th November 1925 - 25th October 1991), born in Clitheroe, Lancashire, played two roles in Coronation Street: John Harrison in 1965 and Archie Crabtree, Hilda Ogden's brother, in 1972. In between these appearances, he guested in an episode of the spin-off Turn out the Lights in 1967.
Elsewhere he appeared in Quatermass and the Pit, Doctor Who, Z Cars and The Pallisers. He was a regular actor in guest roles on television shows, continuing to act until he died. His last appearance on television was in an episode of Lovejoy.
