Jeremy Aster was a human male born in 2354 to Marla Aster and her husband. Jeremy would spend the first few years of his life on Earth, living in a home with his parents and a pet cat named Patches.

Jeremy's father died of a Rushton infection in 2361. After the death of her husband, Marla Aster joined Starfleet as a Lieutenant, and was assigned as an archaeologist on board the USS Enterprise-D. Jeremy accompanied her on board the Enterprise, and was living on the ship with his mother when she was killed by a Koinonian bomb in 2366.

The remaining Koinonians tried to assist Jeremy by creating a replica of his mother to raise him, however the Enterprise crew convinced the Koinonians not to proceed, and allow him to grieve the loss of his mother. As part of the healing process, Jeremy vented his anger at Lieutenant Worf, who had commanded the away team that Marla Aster was part of when she died. Afterwards, Worf invited the young human to become his brother and join his House in the R'uustai ritual. Jeremy soon departed the Enterprise to live with family on Earth. (TNG episode: "The Bonding")

As of 2367, Jeremy was living with his Aunt Megan in the city of Fergus Falls, and had developed a romantic interest in a local girl named Emily. Aster kept in regular contact with Worf, and asked him for advice on dealing with a romantic rival. Worf urged him to "stay... and fight." (TNG comic: "The Lesson")

As an adult, Aster pursued a career in archaeology, and by 2375 was working toward his doctorate at the Rector Institute. That year, he was also involved in a romantic relationship with a woman called Marra. By the end of that, however, their relationship had ended. (TNG novel: Diplomatic Implausibility)

Jeremy would later assist Worf and Alexander Rozhenko in the Genesis Sector, helping to keep the Moss Creatures from unleashing a new Genesis Wave on the galaxy. During this time, Jeremy joined the House of Martok. (TNG novel: Genesis Force)

Aster also became close with Worf's adoptive parents, Sergey and Helena Rozhenko, and regularly dined at their home. (TNG novel: Diplomatic Implausibility)

Contents

Personal History

Jeremy Aster was born on 30 November 2354 to Ronald and Marla Aster. [1] (TNG: "The Bonding"; Star Trek: Hidden Frontier)

His father died in 2361 from Rushton infection. After a period of grieving, his mother, an archaeologist, accepted a position aboard the USS Enterprise-D.

In 2366, Marla Aster was killed on an away team mission. The non-corporeal Koinonians, feeling responsible for her death, tried to take custody of Jeremy, but Enterprise personnel Deanna Troi, Wesley Crusher and Worf interfered, leading Jeremy to the conclusion he would be better off where he was. Worf made Jeremy a brother using the R'uustai ceremony. (During this ceremony, he became a member of the House of Mogh). Jeremy left to live with his aunt and uncle on Earth. (TNG: "The Bonding"; Star Trek: Hidden Frontier)

When his aunt and uncle were called up to duty to face the Borg threat later in that same year, his grandmother, Helen Aster, looked after him and his cousin Corey. After his aunt and uncle were assumed killed during the Battle of Wolf 359, Helen became Jeremy's (and Corey's) guardian.

Jeremy was involved in the reoccurring dreams his cousin was having about the Borg. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Dream a Little Dream of Me")

Starfleet career

Jeremy attended Starfleet Academy with his cousin Corey. (Star Trek: Hidden Frontier)

During this time, Jeremy helped rescue his cousin from a group of locals beating him up in a local forest preserve for pulling a prank. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Dream a Little Dream of Me")

Jeremy Aster, along with his cousin, beamed two kegs of Romulan ale onto the field during Commencement after Admiral Brand's speech. (Star Trek: Hidden Frontier: "In Memory Of")

Sometime after graduation, Jeremy was assigned to the USS Enterprise-E. [2]

Between graduation and 2384, Aster left Starfleet for a period to spend time among Klingons. Sometime during this time, he became a member of the House of Martok. (Star Trek: Hidden Frontier; Star Trek: The Expedition)

By 2384, Jeremy Aster was the flight controller aboard the USS Discovery after completing a stint as flight controller aboard the USS Freemont. (Star Trek: The Expedition)
