Jennifer Almieri, Ph.D., was a famed female Human archaeologist in the 24th century. Over the course of her career, she won a Nobel Prize, a Peckman, a Voltak, and several other honors.

In 2327, Almieri married a fellow archaeologist named Lense, and the two honeymooned that year on Casperia Prime. On November 4, 2341, she gave birth to fraternal twins, a daughter Elizabeth, and a son Jonathan Lense. Sometime after the twins' sixteenth birthday in 2357, Jonathan died, an event which apparently led to the collapse of the family. Almieri's marriage to Lense apparently ended around the same time, and her relationship with Elizabeth became strained.

In 2362, Doctor Almieri joined the archaeological dig at Drura Sextus, the first and only class M planet with evidence of ancient Tholian settlements. On the dig with her were Livilla Darly and Preston Strong. During this mission, the team discovered ancient Tholian writings, in the form of crystal-lattices, describing genetically engineered shapeshifters. Almieri was apparently able to use this found technology to secretly resurrect her son Jonathan. At some point (likely after 2367, the last time Almieri and her daughter spoke directly), the team abandoned Drura Sextus, though they continued to receive approvals and funding for whatever project they were working on.

In 2377, Almieri returned to Earth, where she kept an apartment in Washington, DC, and an office at Starfleet Academy in San Francisco. She was to have been reunited with her daughter Elizabeth, who was pregnant with her first child. However, Almieri was murdered by one of the metamorphs she had been working with over the past several years. Before dying, though, she was able to leave a message for Elizabeth informing her that her brother was alive. (CoE eBook: Ghost)
