Contents |
Petitioner: High-chief Zayalu
Petitioner's Location: Jahara
Genus: Rank II Mark
Classification: Undead
"Our tale begins in Incident: the Slaying in cold Blood of many Garif - a People as a Rule content to live and perish in Nature's Embrace - by Imperials for their Opposition to an Imperial Magicite mining Operation. The fierce hatred of the slain Garif towards their Slayers gave rise to this monstrous Spirit. Having long forgotten its Purpose, it now attacks all Men it finds. Unable to strike at their own Ancestors, the Garif posted a bill for this marks in hopes that a Hunter would aid them."
The player may wish to put Ixtab off until after defeating Cid in Draklor Laboratory, but even so, not much strategy is needed. Simply use physical attacks to kill him. For a faster solution, Quickenings can be used, but it is a waste of MP. Ixtab will use physical attacks, may summon undead monsters to aid him, and also casts Doom on the party leader, so be sure to have at least one party member who has Remedy Lore 3 from the License Board, and quite a few Remedies.
Rewards:
Although Ixtab is undead and can inflict status ailments such as Doom, a simple strategy is to summon either Mateus or Belias. The Esper will be immune to his status attacks, but if the summoner is afflicted with the status ailments, the player will have to defeat him without an Esper. Ixtab can also be easily defeated with intense melee attacks.
Ixtab is the Mayan goddess of suicide.
