Invis in the orginal Final Fantasy

Invisible, also known as Transparent, is a recurring status effect in the Final Fantasy series. In most games it increases the target's Evasion score. It is also a recurring White Magic that has different effects, from raising Evasion to making characters disappear from enemy sight.

Final Fantasy

Invis, also known as INVS in the Famicom release and Invis1 in the Origins release, is a level 2 White Magic spell from the original Final Fantasy. The spell increases a single ally's Evasion attribute by 40 points for the remainder of the battle, and the effect can be stacked.

The spell can be bought at Pravoka and can be learnt by the White Mage, White Wizard, Red Mage, Red Wizard, and Knight Job classes. In the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary Edition releases it costs 3 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy XI

In Final Fantasy XI it is a spell and status effect that bars the creature from detection by aggressive creatures who use sight to find or pursue their foes. Once a player is attacked, though, he will lose the benefits of Invisible. It is also possible in some cases to evade creatures who pursue by sight by activating a spell or ability that gives the invisible ability.

Note: There are some creatures in the game that detect by "True Sight" and who are not able to be tricked by an Invisible spell.

Final Fantasy XII

"A character is invisible, hidden from watchful eyes and cannot be targeted by foes. The effect is temporary"

Invisible is inflicted by the Arcane Magick Vanish and Vanishga. It makes the character invisible, and is more effective against monsters that rely on sight to detect enemies.

It also has a comical effect. In a field map with no enemies, a Confused character in a party with Invisible status will wander around in a random fashion. It can also be used to protect inactive allies - whose Gambits are turned off - from being attacked, so that all attacks is directed to the leader.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Invisible, also known as Transparent, is a status effect that causes characters to be hidden from enemy target. This can be granted using the Ninja ability Vanish, the Ninja Gear, the Invisibility Cloak, or the Sep'tieme Perfume. It is removed when the Invisible character takes action other than moving.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Invisible is granted by several abilities including Hurdy's Hide song. An invisible character can't be targeted by enemy attacks, if they have not been targeted by a Cannoneer first, in which case the attack will hit anyway.

Dissidia Final Fantasy

Invisible is a Story Mode skill. It prevents all instances of Berserk from happening. The effect lasts for the entirety of the story.
