History

Saturn Girl was the 30th century hero Imra Ardeen of Titan, a planet of powerful telepaths. She, Lightning Lad, (whom she later married) and Cosmic Boy were the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes, an organization of teenage heroes formed to honor the legacy of Superboy. .

Powers

  • Telepathy: Saturn Girl can read the minds of others, and broadcast her own thoughts into other people's minds. She can also establish a psionic link, enabling several individuals to communicate simultaneously, with Saturn Girl's mind functioning as a conduit. She could summon distant people, probe human, electronic and animal minds, "push" weakened minds, and even directly control other's thoughts and emotions.

Saturn Girl possesses the strength level of a woman her age, size and weight who engages in moderate regular exercise.

  • Legion Flight Ring: All Legionnaires were presented with a flight ring that enabled them to defy gravity and sustain movement through the air by aerodynamically generating force.
  • Legion Flight Belt: Prior to the creation of the anti-gravity metal of which the Rings are made, the Legion used Flight Belts.
  • Legion Space Suit: Saturn Girl used an insulated space suit that she wore overtop of her costume for missions that required her to operate in the vacuum of outer space.

Transportation

  • LX-811 Star Cruiser: The LX-811 is a star cruiser commonly used by the Legionnaires for off-planet missions.
  • Mark 494 Star Cruiser: The Mark 494 is a smaller space cruiser than the LX-88 and was commonly used by members of the Science Police, but was also used by Legionnaires on occasion as well.
  • Legion Time Bubble: For missions which involved travling backwards through time (which was frequent), Saturn Girl could avail herself of the Legion Time Bubble.

Notes

  • This version of Imra Ardeen (Pre-Zero Hour) is no longer considered part of canon continuity. All history and corresponding appearances of Imra Ardeen (Pre-Zero Hour) were erased from continuity following the events of the 1994 limited series Zero Hour: Crisis in Time.
