Iguion is a boss in Final Fantasy VIII. It fights in a pair. After Sorceress Edea, controlled by Ultimecia, gave Galbadia her introductory speech as Galbadian Ambassador she brought to life two Iguion statues to destroy Rinoa Heartilly, who was at the moment under the Sorceress's control.

Battle

Resonance is magic attack used only when two Iguions are present.

Magma Breath is a Fire-elemental attack that can also cause Petrifying status to a target.

After drawing the valuable GF Carbuncle, the two Iguions are easy to defeat with strong GFs. Do not use Ifrit or Fire magic, since Iguions absorb the Fire element. As they are weak to Earth, use Brothers if you have them. Defeat them quickly, because if the battle is drawn out too long the chance of being petrified is increased.
