Publisher's Summary

'Depends on how you define alien,' the Doctor said simply. 'They were human once.'

In 2006 the world is about to be overwhelmed by a disaster that might destroy human civilization: the inversion of the Earth's magnetic field. Deep in an Antarctic base, the FLIPback team is frantically devising a system to reverse the change in polarity.

Above them, the SS Elysium carries its jet-set passengers on the ultimate cruise. On board is Ruby Duvall, a journalist sent to record the FLIPback moment. Instead she finds a man called the Doctor, who is locked out of the strange green box he says is merely a part of his time machine. And she finds old enemies of the Doctor: silver giants at work beneath the ice.

  • Author David Banks was an actor in the TV series, having played Cybermen on several occasions. Although not the first Doctor Who actor to write a novel (Ian Marter wrote novelisations and the original work Harry Sullivan's War previously), he was the only past Doctor Who actor to contribute a work to the New Adventures line.
  • A prelude to this novel was published in DWM Issue 204.

History

Iceberg's origins and background are still a mystery, though it is known that she joined the JLX sometime during its first series, JLX. Like many of her fellow teammates, including Mister X, Apollo, Runaway, and Nightcreeper, Iceberg was captured and incarcerated in a holding cell specifically designed for metamutants like herself. This occured during the Armageddon Agenda, when Will Magnus was given permission by the government to hunt metamutants. When Amazon assembled the new JLX to defeat Fin Fang Flame, Iceberg was a part of the new team, her powers greatly assisted in the battle against Fin Fang Flame. Unlike most JLX members, she has no known previous affiliation with the Judgment League Avengers.

Runescape

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Location on World map
Acheron
Unknown Iceberg Unknown
Etceteria

The Iceberg is a large piece of ice floating in the sea, and serves as a major location for the quests Cold War and Hunt for Red Raktuber. It appears to be almost devoid of features, with the only two icons on the world map being "transportation" (File:Transportation icon.png) and "Agility training" (File:Agility training.png). While currently, this is the closest location to a "penguin base", it is not their mainland. It is discovered in Hunt for Red Raktuber that penguins have a mainland which they refer to as the "Motherland".

The transport icon marks the landing point of the boat from Rellekka, which is the only way to travel to the Iceberg. The Agility icon marks the location of the penguin agility course. The northern tip of the eastern peninsula of the Iceberg is currently the farthest northern point in the whole of Gielinor.

Contents

Getting there

  • Find Larry who is stationed by his boat to the east of Rellekka on the pier (outside the fence area), and talk to him.
  • After starting Hunt for Red Raktuber, Larry gives players the ability to use the boat for themselves to get to the Iceberg.

KGP base

Much of the iceberg has been hollowed out for use as a base of operations by the KGP, though players must have progressed through part of Cold War in order to access this area. Players will meet NPCs including Pescaling Pax here. Pescaling is the leader of the penguins, and is leading them to war against RuneScape. The Iceberg appears to have stopped drifting with the Northern Sea's tides at some point, possibly anchored to the sea floor in some way by the KGP.

Players will also meet Ping & Pong, two musical bards who are annoyed with most instruments which require thumbs and fingers to play. During Cold War, players give them some bongos and a cowbell. Because of this, they are nearly thrown into solitary confinement for disrupting the base's operations. During Hunt for the Red Raktuber, players get the help of the bards in composing a song to put a guard to sleep.

During Hunt for the Red Raktuber, players meet some dwarves who claim to be working against the penguins. However, the player is tricked as they are working with the penguins. The dwarves are in the war room, and are possibly aligned with the Red Axe.

The only monsters here are four level 51 Icelords, which player must fight during Cold War. These can be fought after the quest is finished.

Penguin agility course

The agility course is the main feature of the Iceberg.

This course requires an Agility level of 30, and requires the completion of Cold War. Player also need to be wearing a penguin suit (created during the quest).

This course offers some of the best Agility experience in the game. Players with low Hitpoints may find this course useful as minimal damage is received upon failure, despite giving similar experience to the Werewolf Agility Course, but with half the Agility requirement.

Music

The following music tracks are unlocked here:

  • Have an Ice Day
  • Espionage
  • Ice Day for Penguins (unlocked in the Penguin Hunting Area after Hunt for Red Raktuber)

Transformers

Up to date as of February 05, 2010

From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki

They're actually both looking for characterization.
Let's see what you can see...

This article is in need of images.

Specifics: Comic appearance, toys
Iceberg is a Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family
Can't reach toes... too many Nutty Buddies... and no toes...

Iceberg isn't just physically suited for cold-weather and Arctic missions. He loves the cold. Be it trekking through a blizzard in Siberia or simply enjoying a drive through a human settlement at Christmastime (he's developed a fondness for the Most Wonderful Time of the Year), Iceberg is always ready, willing and able to get out there.

In fact, his teammates might say he's a little too eager. More than once, he's managed to get the entire Adventure Mini-Con Team assigned to some frigid mission, where he has a clear advantage his teammates don't share. Iceberg isn't above chicanery to get his way...even if his warm-weather-loving teammate Dune Runner ends up complaining the whole time.

Japanese name: Junk

Well you can tell by the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man, no time to talk!

Iceberg is shown as one of the Mini-Cons aboard the Axalon when the Autobots depart for Cybertron to battle Unicron.

Note: Alexis calls Iceberg "Junk", his Japanese name. Just a dub-flub; move along, people.

Dreamwave Armada comics continuity

Iceberg was one of the many Mini-Cons stationed on Earth's Moon for millennia. When the Decepticons invaded, the Adventure Team were part of the first wave of defense against them. However, due to Leader-1 and Dualor's fighting, the base's defenses were destroyed, and the entire installation had to be abandoned. The Mini-Cons escaped to Earth in a series of emergency rocket-pods.

Later, after (temporarily) siding with the Autobots, the Adventure Team was dispatched to Alaska in order to retrieve the last Mini-Con escape pod from the Moonbase. However, when the team started digging, they were interrupted by Thrust, then the super-powered Cyclonus, who scattered the team. Iceberg was swept away from a wave caused by Thrust's impact with the water, but was recovered by Sparkplug when Autobot reinforcements arrived.

The whole of the Earth-based Mini-Con force gathered in Arizona's Black Mesa to take the space bridge back to Cybertron to fight off the approaching Unicron. Presumably he was among the Mini-Cons at the Loop in Cyber City, giving his power to the Mini-Con Matrix that dealt the critical blow to Unicron.

Toys

Armada

  • Adventure Mini-Con Team (Basic, 2003)
    • Japanese ID number: MM-16
Iceberg transforms into a treaded Arctic plow with a serrated plow blade and a crane-arm. A gear-wheel mechanism on his vehicle-mode underside makes the outer sections of his plow scissor inward slightly when he is rolled along a smooth surface. This feature can also be activated by attaching him to the gear-wheel mechanism on the underside of the Armada Cyclonus mold. He was normally only available in a three-pack with his teammates Dune Runner and Ransack.
This mold was also used to make Armada Armorhide, Scattorbrain, and Spoil.
  • Grap Supermode with Spark Lift and Adventure Micron
    • Japanese ID number: MS-07
The Adventure Team were available in Japan both in their own set and in a large multi-pack with Grap (aka Hoist) and the upgraded Lift (aka Liftor). All toys in the set are identical to their individual releases.
  • Adventure Microns X-Dimension (Basic, 2003)
    • Japanese ID number: MM-19
A limited-edition (yet still standard retail) "X-Dimension" redeco of the Adventure Team was released in Japan. For this version, Iceberg has a bright yellow deco with warning stripes on his tread-guards.
  • Powerlinx Cyclonus with Crumplezone and Bonus Mini-Con (Bonus pack, 2003)
  • Powerlinx Hot Shot with Jolt and Bonus Mini-Con (Bonus pack, 2003)
In November of 2003, US Toys "R" Us stores had special bonus pack Max-Con (Deluxe) toys, which came with a single bonus Mini-Con attached to the card over their sticker, for less than the price of a normal Max-Con during Toys "R" Us's post-Thanksgiving-Day sale. Each of the Adventure Team Mini-Cons could come packaged with either Powerlinx Cyclonus or Powerlinx Hot Shot.
  • Adventure Team (Basic, 2003)
Test-shots of a slightly altered and ultimately unreleased Adventure Team have popped up from various sources. It's possible this was intended to be a mid-series deco change for the team, though it looks unfinished at best. Not only does the team have the exact same paint application layouts in the exact same colors as the original, but Iceberg's plastic is barely changed, this version being a slightly brighter orange.
Your bargaining posture is highly dubious.

Proceed on your way to oblivion.
This item has been canceled, with no current plans for release.

Energon

  • Adventure Mini-Con Team & Sea Mini-Con Team
An unaltered version of the original Adventure Team was released as part of an Energon-series "Mini-Con 6-pack" with the Sea Mini-Con Team.

Trivia

  • Iceberg's Japanese name "Junk" indicates Takara is under the impression the Mini-Con is some kind of garbage plow. Further evidence of this is that the Micron Booster redeco of the mold is called "Spoil"; most of the Booster Mini-Cons had names that were similar in theme to their base molds.
