Ice Spikes is a Black Magic spell in Final Fantasy XI available to Black Mages starting at level 20 and then later to Red Mages at level 40. The spikes do an amount of damage contingent upon the caster's Enhancing Magic ability and the target's resistance to the Ice element. Generally, this spell will not do more than 15 damage per hit at level 75, and starts out much weaker than that.
In addition to doing damage, Ice spikes has a chance of inflicting Paralysis on any creature that successfully hits a character or creature with this spell active.
Red Mages wearing Duelist's Tights will have the effect of their spikes enhanced.
The following equipment occasionally will mimic the effect of Ice Spikes.

Full: Target and adjacent foes are struck for 20...68 cold damage and move 66% slower for 2...5 seconds.
Concise: Also hexes foes adjacent to target (2...5 seconds). These foes move 66% slower. Initial effect: deals 20...68 cold damage.
