Hydra is a dalmatian who appears in A Visit to the Sesame Street Firehouse. The dog, whose gender is unspecified, serves as the mascot for the Sesame Street Engine Co., curling up for a nap near the feet of resting firefighters. Hydra eagerly says goodbye to the Sesame Street gang, mimicking the Chief's hand shake.
Hydra may refer to:
The Hydra was one of the spawn of Echidna in Ancient Greek mythology, a many-headed serpentine monstrosity. It could breathe poison, and indeed its very blood was deadly. The Hydra was killed as one of Heracles' Twelve Labours.
| This article is about the species. For the monster Hydra encountered in Ascalon, see Hydra (Ascalon). For the Hydra in the Crystal Desert, see Hydra (Crystal Desert). |
Hydras are reptilian, three-headed creatures, walking on two legs like some dinosaurs, with a long tail.
Contents |
Hydras are some of the most fearsome beasts in all of Tyria because of their ability to inflict massive spike AoE damage, and knockdowns.
All breeds of Hydras in the game are powerful fire elementalists (with the exception of a few Hydra bosses). They can be found wielding some of the most devastating spells of fire such as Fireball, Phoenix and the dreaded Meteor and Meteor Shower. Hydras have thicker skin than the average elementalist enemy.
Hydras cannot be knocked down.
On the weakness side, keep in mind that Hydras ...

The Hydra VTOL jet fighter airplane in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Contents |
The Hydra is evidently a jet-powered military aircraft, bearing (slightly modified) roundels of the United States Air Force on its wings. The Hydra is suggestively based on the McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing/BAe) AV-8B Harrier II, although the air intake is on the underside of the aircraft and resembles that of a Lockheed F-16. This is further proven by the code that is used to spawn it in the PC version, "Jumpjet", which is a nickname for the Harrier Jets
![]() In flight, with its thrusters directed to the back. |
Parked, with its landing gears down and its thrusters directed downwards. |
The Hydra is the most sophisticated aircraft in the GTA series, boasting a variety of equipment. One of its more prominent abilities is its VTOL capabilities, which allows it to hover or descend or ascent vertically, alike a helicopter, and travel horizontally alike an airplane; ahese abilities are achieved by directing thrust from four jet outtakes downwards or backward using specific directional controls (by pushing the right analog stick forward/back, or, on a PC, by holding down 8 on the number pad, or Del). Due to its excellent engine and maneuverability, the Hydra is the fastest aircraft in GTA San Andreas and one of the easiest to fly when you know the basics of fixed wing flight.
The Hydra comes with various armaments, including lock-on or manual-aimed missiles, and flares as countermeasures for oncoming missiles fired by enemies, which redirects these lock-on missile away from the player. In addition, the Hydra with an auto repair system which can repair the fuselage of the craft after minor impact (but not the wings and fins).
The Hydra is rated by many players as their favorite aircraft, for its speed, agility, and weapons which make it an excellent choice for any purpose requiring an airplane. Its chief disadvantage comes not from the vehicle itself, but the game engine - high-speed flight can allow the plane to hit objects, such as trees, well before they've become visible.
The Hydra can be attained by a cheat code or at Easter Basin Naval Station, in a hangar at Verdant Meadows Aircraft Graveyard after the mission Vertical Bird, at Sweet's house after 100% completion, and at Area 69 after Black Project.
Hydra may refer to the following:

[[:Category:{{{Images}}}|Images]]
The Hydra is a DHARMA Initiative zoological research station located on a much smaller second island (twice size of Alcatraz; about 44 acres) a few miles offshore. The Hydra appears to be one of the larger DHARMA facilities: a sprawling collection of different buildings and underground facilities. It appears to be the largest station and is similar to the Flame and the Tempest in that a large section is not hidden below ground. The above-ground area of the station is surrounded by thick jungle, but is likely located quite close to shore.
Contents |
The Hydra was constructed at some point prior to 1977 and its original purpose was one of zoological research. The station contained research facilities for experimentation on polar bears and marine animals such as dolphins and sharks. Pierre Chang threatened Hurley with being sent to Hydra Island to weigh polar bear dung for the scientists there in their "ridiculous experiments." ("Some Like It Hoth") Personnel were carried to and from the station via the Pala Ferry which ran three times a day. (Barracks video)
The blast door map references the Hydra station with the statement, "Stated goal, repatriation, accelerated de-territorialization of Ursus maritimus (polar bear) through gene therapy and extreme climate change," suggesting the experiments may have been aimed at making polar bears less aggressive.
After the Purge, a number of the polar bears were freed from their cages and swam to the main Island. (Access Granted)
At some point after the Purge, the Others assumed control of the Hydra, which was used as a base of operations for a number of different types of projects away from their home on the main Island. ("Stranger in a Strange Land") One of these projects was the construction of a runway on Hydra Island that Kate and Sawyer were forced to work on. ("The Glass Ballerina") ("Every Man for Himself") ("I Do") Karl's imprisonment and attempted brainwashing in Room 23 also suggests that other psychological experiments may have been underway. The station may have also served as a makeshift prison or judicial center for the Others. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Karl and Juliet were all imprisoned here, and a number of the Others traveled to Hydra Island specifically to watch Juliet's trial. Ben also had an office here.
After Ben's surgery, the Others abandoned the station and returned to the Barracks, possibly fearing that the survivors could return. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")
The Hydra Island is within range of the Island's magnetic phenomena and was moved along with it when Ben turned the frozen wheel. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3").
In 2007, Ajira Airways Flight 316 made an emergency landing on the Hydra Island. The survivors shortly thereafter discovered the Hydra and moved their injured into one of the station's buildings. ("The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham")
The Hydra station has areas both above and below sea level.
A large bunker-like room with reinforced walls and drains along the floor - subdivided in two by a thick and resillient transparent fiberglass wall. Both sections of the room have hatch-like doors opened by turning a wheel which led out into an adjacent corridor. Per Juliet this room was where DHARMA scientists would perform experiments on sharks and dolphins. ("A Tale of Two Cities") One end of the room appeared to be where animal subjects would be held and contained a large metal table with a number of chains hanging down from the ceiling. An intercom is set into one wall. Likely this end of the room could be partially flooded in experiments.
The other end of the room beyond the glass partition appeared to be largely for observing scientists and contains a large desk, chair and an elaborate electronic soundboard. The soundboard is quite complicated and among other functions controls communication between the two areas of the room. Behind the desk a red emergency button sits on the wall used to activate an emergency pumping system to flush water from this area of the station should it become flooded.
Used by the Others as a makeshift prison cell, both Jack and Juliet were held here for a time. The Hydra television was brought in later to show Jack videos. The playback device appears to be a U-matic format 1985 SONY UMATIC VO-5800.
Although Juliet told Jack it was non-functional, Jack did receive messages through the intercom on several occasions. Jack appeared to hear his father telling him to "let it go," a phrase he had spoken in a flashback off the Island. ("A Tale of Two Cities") Jack also heard Sawyer's screams in another area of the facility, part of a discussion between two unknown Others talking about Karl, and Alex telling him to try to open the door to his cell. ("Every Man for Himself") ("I Do")
Both doors from the aquarium open into a hallway with at least two more doors (one at either end) and a ladder leading upwards. One of the doors at the end of the hallway is a large wheeled hatch, which, when opened by Jack during an escape attempt, caused this entire area of the station to flood with seawater. Presumably if performed under controlled circumstances this would allow the aquarium tanks to be filled and could be used to bring in or release animal subjects.
Also in the underwater section of the Hydra is a small observation room, mainly used by Ben. Appearing similar in design to the bank of monitors at the Pearl station, the room has six monitors, each equipped with live video and audio. Each camera has its own control panel with two knobs, three switches and a small red light. From here one can monitor different areas of Hydra Island, including underwater rooms and walkways, the operating room, and the cages. Ben used the surveillance room to monitor Kate and Sawyer in the cages. A gun locker is located next to the observation equipment containing 3 SKS rifles, three WWII Walther P38 pistols and several boxes of ammunition. This weapons locker is far smaller than that of the Swan. Tom refers to the area as "the surveillance room". ("Stranger in a Strange Land")
The surface area of the Hydra is composed of several different buildings and walkways. It is unclear where some of these structures are located in respect to one another. The notable areas will be described here.
See main article: Cages
In a central area of the above-ground compound are two large cages situated near a walkway with an overhanging canopy, leading to another part of the compound. A large concrete and metal building is visible in the background.
Built into one of the cages is an experiment reminiscent of the works of B.F. Skinner in operant conditioning. Pressing the levers and buttons in a certain sequence provides a "reward" of food and water; pressing them in a wrong way gives a painful electric shock. It was revealed by Tom that the cages formerly housed polar bears. The Others used these cages as makeshift prison cells. Kate, Sawyer, Karl and later Jack were all kept here temporarily. Kate also discovered in one instance that she is able to climb out the top of her cage by squeezing through the bars.
In Karl's break-out attempt, Sawyer runs past several other cages made of weaker-looking material in the surrounding area. These cages most likely housed other species used in DHARMA's zoological program. ("A Tale of Two Cities")
A large concrete and metal building several stories tall, surrounded by the jungle. The main building appears to contain a set of locker rooms and shower facilities, an operating theater with an observation gallery. It can be assumed that there are X-ray facilities elsewhere in the building as well as surgical supplies and anesthetic.
A sizeable operating room is located on the ground floor of the main building, which was first seen by Jack who was brought here to try to save Colleen's life. Just outside the door is a small preparation area including a sink and a lightbox allowing doctors to look at X-rays. Across from the preparation area a small flight of steps leads up to a small obervation gallery overlooking the operating theater. Likely this area may have been used for teaching or observation during animal operations.
When Ben and Jack discussed the status of the operating room, Ben revealed that it is a fully equipped facility, with all of the tools, devices, and supplies a surgeon would need. However, it was previously revealed by Juliet that the crash cart and cardiac paddles were broken. Ben is also brought here to undergo spinal surgery. ("I Do")
Up a flight of steps on the outside of the main building is a large locker room and working shower facility where Kate awoke after her kidnapping by the Others. ("A Tale of Two Cities") There likely are other exits.
Elsewhere in the compound is a large rundown building which appears to be quite large. When Kate, Sawyer and Alex arrive, it is being guarded by Aldo. One room inside the building is known as Room 23 where Karl was being held and subjected to brainwashing. Karl was stapped to a chair with a drug-laced IV in his arm, wearing LED goggles and being forced to watch a looped video while subjected to extremely loud drum-and-bass music. The video contained a wild assortment of images and features short glimpses of Gerald DeGroot and Alvar Hanso. It also contained several religious statements, such as "God Loved You, As He Loved Jacob." ("Not in Portland") Walt was also brought here previously and may have been subjected to the same treatment. (Room_23_(mobisode))
Also within the Hydra compound is a large meeting room with a lectern, likely used for discussion and lecturing. Juliet was seen here whilst on trial for Pickett's murder. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")
Somewhere within the Hydra complex is Ben's office. The office contains a desk adorned with an animal skull and other samples, bookshelves and filing cabinets. Ben's office was used by Isabel, in his short-absence, who summoned Jack, Tom, and Juliet for questioning. Here she questioned Jack on whether or not Juliet had asked him to kill Ben. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")
Later Caesar searched this room and found issues of Life magazine from 1954 and several documents including maps of the Island and what appeared to be a photocopy of a page from Daniel's journal, showing a time-related diagram. He also found a sawed-off shotgun hidden under the desk. ("The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham") One drawer in the deck contained a picture of Alex. ("Dead Is Dead")
Presumably nearby, a similar-looking room is used by the survivors of Flight 316 as a makeshift infirmary. This room contains several beds, other furniture and boxes. ("The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham")
See main article: Runway
Close by the Hydra compound is a rock quarry which the Others were working to clear as a construction project in 2004. The project appears to have been overseen by Pickett and Kate and Sawyer were forced to work at the site. ("The Glass Ballerina") ("Every Man for Himself") ("I Do") Juliet later told Sawyer that the land they were clearing would be used to build a runway, although claimed she did not know why. ("Through the Looking Glass") This same runway in a completed or nearly-completed state was used later by Ajira Flight 316 in 2007 for an emergency landing on Hydra Island.
In the video game Lost: Via Domus, several additional locations are revealed at the Hydra. These locations are considered Canonical merit|canonical.
In the video game Lost: Via Domus, Elliott Maslow enters a room called the "ADVISORY ROOM". The advisory room has a code name which is DIHS-AR16. Ben and Juliet were waiting inside when he arrived. The purpose of this room is unknown. It is likely that this is a restricted section of the Hydra, and can only be accessed by high ranked members of the Others. ("Worth A Thousand Words")
The depository is a storage room for the Hydra station. The room is equiped with various materials, including food and animal equipment. ("Worth A Thousand Words")
In the video game Lost: Via Domus, Elliott explores a room in the Hydra that is filled with zoological equipment. This room has a code name which is DIHS-R38. The room was used for various zoological research and experimentation. There are several animal cages, as well as laboratory equipment. There is also a wall that has x-rays from a shark. It is likely that many experiments with dolphins, sharks, and other marine animals were done in this laboratory. ("Worth A Thousand Words")
In the video game Lost: Via Domus, there is a large aquarium that contains two large shark tanks adjacent to each other. Above the tank there is a large metal machine that can carry the sharks and suspend them in mid-air. The staging tank has a code name which is DIHS-ST1. ("Worth A Thousand Words")
Almost all of the Others have been seen at the Hydra because they work there.

Hydra was a talented actor in his home country of East Germany, but apparently celluloid stardom wasn't exciting enough for this burgeoning young sociopath. Hydra became involved with the American criminal underworld, using his talent for disguise to become an assassin who was soon regarded as one of the best in the business. Cold, uncaring and extreme in his methods, Hydra already considered himself above most other people, so when the Decepticons arrived on the scene and offered him even greater power, he happily seized upon the opportunity.
As a Godmaster, Hydra is bonded to a Transtector from the G Nebula and can manipulate Chōkon Power, with his speciality being the control of lightning. He and his younger brother Buster can merge their Transtectors into the giant jet Darkwings. Hydra truly believes that the Decepticons should rule mankind, and is willing even to sacrifice his own humanity to help them accomplish that goal.
Contents |
Hydra and Buster were in North America when they were approached by Giga and Mega, agents of the Decepticon leader Devil Z, and bonded to a pair of Transtectors that had taken the forms of jet planes. A Hero Is Chosen - His Name Is Ginrai The brothers were brought to a hidden island, where they were trained in the use of their new Godmaster powers until it was decided that they join up with the rest of the Decepticons already operating under the command of Blood. Blood's Pretenders and Headmaster Juniors were summoned to the island, where Hydra and Buster, disguised in suits of medieval armor, promptly attacked and bested them as a demonstration of their powers. Blood bristled at the notion that two humans could be stronger than true Decepticons, and challenged the two Godmasters to prove themselves by attacking the Mt Fuji Foothills Hang Gliding Competition Tournament. It just so happened that the Autobot Headmaster Juniors were participating in the contest, leading to a battle between the Godmaster brothers and the Autobot Pretenders. Although they had their Autobot foes massively overpowered, the arrival of Metalhawk left them outnumbered, and the brothers opted to withdraw. Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers Hydra and Buster next went into battle when the Decepticons attacked the tidal power plant on Viscas Island, but the battle was brought to an end when Buster was injured by Diver and Hydra called retreat. A Fierce Battle!! The Autobots Are in Trouble
When Mega and Giga revealed that there were other Godmaster on Earth, Hydra and Buster were charged with locating them before the Autobots did. Hydra decided to search North America first, on the basis that it was where they became Godmasters themselves, and with a little help from the Headmaster Juniors, the brothers were soon on the trail of a mysterious truck that had been rumoured to be able to heal any damage to itself. The brothers found the truck crashed at the bottom of a cliff along with the Autobot Diver, but when they attempted to take it, the truck's driver, Ginrai, revealed that he was indeed a Godmaster, and that that truck was his Transtector, by transforming to robot mode for the first time. Shocked by what they had witnessed, Hydra and Buster retreated. A Hero Is Chosen - His Name Is Ginrai Before long, however, the brothers were back on Ginrai's trail, and attacked numerous tractor trailers in their search for him, killing many of Ginrai's trucker friends before finally locating him. Hydra took Ginrai on alone, but at an inopportune moment, the rays of the sun reflected off a picture Ginrai was carrying and blinded Hydra, forcing him to call for a retreat. Ginrai: God On of Rage!!
When Cancer was captured by the Autobots for interrogation, Hydra and Buster arrived to retrieve him. The Autobots released their prisoner, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon planted on Cancer's shirt, and attacked the Autobots in retribution. While battling Ginrai, Hydra was distracted when Cancer protected the kindly Autobot Minerva from Buster, allowing Ginrai to turn the tide of the battle and force the villains to fall back. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva Things didn't go much better during the brothers' next battle with Ginrai, at Mount Yatsugatake in Nagano, where there brothers were blasted by Ginrai's newly-obtained trailer. Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!!
Hungry for revenge, Hydra and Buster were not content simply with destroying Ginrai, but also sought to discredit him and the Autobots into the bargain. Luring Ginrai into a battle in a city, the brothers loudly blamed him for starting the battle so that the population could overhear, and then summoned some Lobclaw Seacons to finish the Autobot off. Luckily, Diver and Lander arrived to deal with the Seacons, and the enraged Ginrai unleashed a blast of Chōkon Power that saw the villains off. Eliminate the Godmaster Ginrai
Learning that Ginrai had appeared on television show in an attempt to find the remaining Godmasters on Earth, Hydra and Buster tried menacing a producer at the TV station in order to find out what Ginrai had learned from the correspondence that had come in. The tactic had no luck, so they resorted to searching the continent with the help of the Pretenders; the Pretenders later found Ginrai in Canada, but were unable to stop the next Godmaster, Lightfoot from joining the Autobots. Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter After this failure, the Decepticons were even more determined to recruit the next Godmaster, a Canadian forest patrolman named Ranger. During the battle with the Autobots that resulted in the Rocky Mountains, however, Hydra and Buster were left badly outnumbered and had to flee when the Headmaster Juniors abandoned them out of spite after they carelessly put Wilder in danger in their zeal to destroy Ginrai. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger
Hydra and Buster stepped back from the front lines for a short time, instead trying their hand at formulating a plan for the Pretenders to carry out. This outlandish plot to capture doctors was soon botched, much to their distaste, Save the Little Girl! The Chojin Warriors, the Godmasters and they again took an active hand in matters, starting with a scheme to divide and conquer the Autobot Godmasters, starting with Lightfoot. Hydra put his makeup talents to use disguising himself and Buster as reporters so that they could get close to Lightfoot's father Leftfoot and take him prisoner. The brothers sent a message to Lightfoot, who was faced with the choice of either joining the Decepticons or having his Master-Braces (and hands!) cut off by Hydra, but luckily, the other Autobot Godmasters soon arrived to help give the Darkwings Brothers one of their most severe beatings yet. When Buster's arm was actually torn off, the horrified Hydra called retreat, but they weren't above spitefully blowing up some factory buildings as they left. Life? Death? Lightfoot Must Choose
After serving as chauffeurs for Mega when she was posing as a fortune teller, Expose the Decepticons' Dark Deception! Hydra and Buster were next charged with destroying Ginrai's trailer. His acting talent again in full swing, Hydra posed a movie producer named "Billy Hyler" and talked Ginrai into performing some stunt-driving for a movie filming in the desert. Buster was able to plant an explosive charge that separated Ginrai from his trailer, and the brothers combined into Darkwings in an attempt to destroy the latter component. Before they could strike, Ginrai merged with his trailer and blew the villains out of the air with his Special Fire Guts attack. Ginrai was, however, subsequently badly wounded by Giga and Mega's combined form, Overlord, Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!? and the brothers decided to strike while the Autobots were a man down by attempting to destroy the Godbomber drone the heroes were in the midst of constructing. The brothers were duped into following a disguised truck into the nearby mountains, thinking that it was carrying Godbomber, when in fact, it was simply the Autobot, Road King, who joined with Ranger and Lightfoot in beating the brothers to a pulp. Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!?
In the next attempt to destroy Godbomber, Hydra and Buster attacked a Middle-East oil refinery in order to draw the Autobots out. Even the cold, cruel Hydra was taken aback, however, when Giga asked if they were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and later confided in Buster that while he was not afraid of dying in battle, he wasn't willing to sacrifice himself just for victory. Although this plan to destroy Godbomber met with failure, Overlord - Terror of the Chōkon Tornado the Decepticons tried yet again, this time by separating Godbomber from Ginrai and having Hydra and Buster target the unprotected drone. With a little help from Sixknight, however, the Autobot Headmaster Juniors discovered that they were able to pilot Godbomber and were able to defeat the Darkwings Brothers. Destroy Godbomber!!
When the final Godmaster, Clouder, sought out the Decepticons and requested to join them, Hydra had King Poseidon attack him so that he could prove his strength. Appearance!! The Final Godmaster Clouder passed the test, and the Decepticons installed him within the Autobot ranks as a spy, who fed them inside information on the Autobots' base. Hydra and Buster proceeded to attack a nearby city in order to occupy the attentions of Ginrai and the Godmasters while the rest of the Decepticons initiated an all-out attack on the Autobots' headquarters Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!! and although the brothers were eventually defeated, the larger plan to destroy the base succeeded. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes Soon thereafter, when BlackZarak arrived on Earth, Hydra and Buster traveled into space with the rest of the Decepticons when the villain prepared to unleash the unholy Death-Para Machine upon the Earth, Crisis! The Day of the Downfall of Humanity and later battled Lightfoot in northern Europe. God Ginrai - Save Cancer!?
Having been left to die in the conflagration that destroyed the Autobot base, Clouder turned on his former allies when he resurfaced, and offered to lead the Autobots to a Decepticon base. His discussion with Shūta Gō, however, was overheard by Hydra, who radioed ahead to the Decepticon base, allowing them to lay a trap for the two youths. God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base Later, when the Autobots attacked the Decepticon base in force, Hydra and Buster battled Ginrai and the Godmasters, until Devil Z brought the battle to and end by fusing with BlackZarak and collapsing the base into an undersea chasm. The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform
After their numerous defeats at the hands of Ginrai, Hydra came to the conclusion that he and Buster were weakened by their humanity, and the brothers petitioned Devil Z to use his powers to transform them into true robots. The evil being complied, fusing the brothers with their Transtectors and replacing their Jinchōkon Power—lost to them along with their humanity—with his own Devil Power. The Darkwings Brothers attacked Ginrai in the Grand Canyon, and Ginrai, appalled at what they had done to themselves, called upon his God Fire Guts attack. The brothers responded by diving at Ginrai in a flaming "Hellfire Attack," resulting in a huge explosion when the attacks collided. The battered brothers limped away from the battle, declaring it a draw. Battle to the Death!! God Ginrai VS Darkwings Reborn While Ginrai then went on to battle Overlord, Hydra and Buster attacked Lightfoot and Road King, trapping them in a cave. They then took on the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, almost cutting off Shuta's arms before Ginrai returned and saw them off. Autobots! Desperate Attack!!
During the final conflict on the Matterhorn, Hydra and Buster unveiled the mightiest weapon in their arsenal, the "Mach X Flight," allowing them to move faster than the eye could follow. They did not predict, however, that Ginrai could replicate the effect with his own Chōkon Power, and the Autobot once again proved to be their better, searing their bodies with his burning backwash and sending them crashing into the mountain. The brothers rejoined the other Decepticons at the mountain's peak, where BlackZarak unleashed his fury on the two failures, pummelling them until Overlord stepped in to try and stop the punishment. This only resulted in BlackZarak turning on him as well, at which point Ginrai arrived to save his foes and engage BlackZarak in final battle. Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z As the Autobot leader battled BlackZarak, Hydra and Buster recovered from their beating, with Hydra calmly writing it off as proof that they were weak, and that they needed to fight even harder. At that point, the Autobot Godmasters arrived and Hydra and Buster plunged into battle right away, despite the fact that they were on the verge of collapse. Eventually, they could fight no further, and combined into Darkwings to flee. In the moments that followed, Ginrai succeeded in destroying BlackZarak and Devil Z, which resulted in all the other humans becoming separated from their Transtectors. The Transtectors themselves continued to live as true super-robot lifeforms, and Hydra and Buster promptly joined with the other Decepticons in departing Earth. A Battle... and Then...
Hydra and Buster served as part of the Decepticon forces under Overlord's command, often battling the Autobot forces lead by Ginrai in the G Nebula. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior
Decepticon leaders Giga and Mega unveiled their Godmaster warriors, Hydra and Buster, to the world by sending them to "welcome" the Autobot Godmaster, Ginrai, to Japan. After bombing Tokyo on their way to Harumi Wharf, Hydra and Buster merged into Darkwings and immediately attacked Metalhawk and the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, who were at the wharf awaiting Ginrai's arrial. After taking the Juniors out of the fight, the brothers then transformed into robot mode to tackle Metalhawk, but thankfully, Ginrai chose that moment to make his entrance and promptly launched the villains over the horizon with a blast of Chōkon Power. Enter on the Stage! The Name of the Savior Is Ginrai!
When the Autobots traveled to the planet Athenia so that Ginrai could be appointed Supreme Commander, Hydra and Buster followed, joining up with the other Decepticons out in space and attacking the planet with Scramble 7. The Autobots were able to defeat Scramble 7, but Buster and Hydra informed them that they had been united under the rulership of Devil Z, and were heading back to Earth to await the Autobots' return. The Battle Begins! The United Troops of Earth and Space
Hydra and Buster later joined the other Decepticons in an attack on Tokyo, God Ginrai's Amazing Super-God Combination!, battled the Autobot Godmasters and Grand Maximus in space The Earth Family of Good and Evil and lured Ginrai into a Decepticon ambush atop Mount Everest. Decepticons' Great Counterattack! Eventually, the two brothers had Devil Z transform them into entirely robotic beings, and joined him in attacking the other Autobots and Decepticons as he attempted to drain their Jinchōkon and become the ultimate lifeform. The Autobots and Decepticons struck back by combining their powers together into the "Perfect Transform Attack," destroying Devil Z for good. As their leader was wiped out before their eyes, Hydra and Buster combined into Darkwings and fled into space. The Birth of the Super Lifeforms
