Hitpoints cape: Misc

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A Hitpoints cape can be purchased for 99,000 coins from Surgeon General Tafani at the Duel Arena by players who have achieved level 99 Hitpoints. It is the Cape of Accomplishment for the Hitpoints skill. Hitpoints capes are white in colour, and have a red trim if the player has more than one level 99 skill.

Like all skill capes, the hitpoints cape will bring a player's level to 100 temporarily. Although the hitpoints cape will NOT heal a player if their hitpoints is below 99. This is to prevent the abuse of the cape from allowing a player to heal infinitely as a way to recover one's hitpoints. Even if a player had 99/99 hitpoints the cape will only bring it up to 100 once per minute.

This is the third hardest Cape of Accomplishment to have untrimmed (first being Slayer and Summoning) because usually players get another combat skill to 99 before they get Hitpoints. A player must have about 95-96 Attack, Strength, Defence and/or Ranged if they wish to have an untrimmed Hitpoints cape. Unless, players can use Pest Control or Soul Wars and only spend Pest Control points or Zeal on Hitpoints experience, then they can obtain an untrimmed Hitpoints cape without the threat of reaching another skill first (unless they use an attack style that trains a skill already at level 97/98).

  • Surprisingly, some players with combat levels as low as level 25 have managed to get 99 Hitpoints through the Soul Wars Minigame.
  • The Hitpoints cape is also regarded as one of the most common trimmed capes to be seen in game.
  • The emote seems to have not been updated, as if looking carefully, it looks like players before the 08 graphical update, just with better textures.
