High Priestess
Also known as:
Race: Human (changed by Pyroviles)
Home Planet: Earth
Home Era: 79
Appearances: The Fires of Pompeii
Actor: Victoria Wicks

The High Priestess was in charge of an ancient sisterhood called the Sibylline Sisterhood that were hired by the city of Pompeii to see the future.

Profile

Earlier she had been possessed by the Pyrovile force by breathing in volcanic dust. Her body had largely turned into stone. She, and the rest of the Sisterhood, had a telepathic link to each other, and to several other citizens of Pompeii, such as Lucius Petrus Dextrus and a young woman called Evelina. Donna Noble told Evelina of the events that were due to come and refered to them as a new prophecy. She foretold that Mount Vesuvius would erupt and destroy the city.

The High Priestess had a plan to convert humans into Pyrovile in order to keep them from extinction and then boil the oceans away, taking over Earth and all civilization. She died as a result of Mount Vesuvius erupting and destroying her along with Pompeii. (DW: The Fires of Pompeii)

The High Priestess was a female Fabrini religious leader who led the Fabrini population living on Yonada and later on Lorina (Daran IV). She would serve as the representative of the Oracle of the People's will to Fabrini, and would consult with the Oracle for guidance.

In 2268, the High Priestess was a woman named Natira. She guided the people of Yonada during the final stages of the ship's voyage to Daran IV. After her instrument of obedience was removed, and learning that the Oracle was a nothing more than a sophisticated computer Natira gave up the office of High Priestess. (TOS episode: "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky")

After the Oracle was shut down Natira removed the priesthood from formal poltical power, the office of High Priestess passed to a woman named Rishala. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)
