History

Hercules is a demigod and the son of the Roman god Jupiter and Juno. Historically, he likely shared in many similar adventures to that of his Greek counterpart Herakles. Unlike the Greek Herakles however, Hercules never had any interaction with the Amazons of Themyscira. Centuries ago, Hercules was visited by the wizard Shazam who asked him for a portion of his life essence for the creation of a great champion. Originally, the receptacle for such power was intended to be the Egyptian warrior Teth-Adam, but the capricious nature of the Egyptian Heliopolis prevented this from occurring and Teth-Adam instead received his gifts from the Gods of Egypt. Instead, Hercules bestowed a portion of his strength into the "Power of Shazam" which was ultimately received by the young American boy Billy Batson. In recent years, Hercules was called back to the Earthly realm to participate in the "War of the Gods". During the war, he fought at great length against his Greek analog.

Powers

• Divine Empowerment: With assistance from the wizard Shazam, Hercules became one of six great immortals, all of whom bestowed attributes of virtue to young Billy Batson, transforming him into Earth's mightiest mortal - Captain Marvel. Hercules grants Billy Batson great strength.
