Hawk and Dove (Volume 3) picked up immediately after the events from the Hawk and Dove limited series. Published from 1989 until 1990, this series spanned 28 issues including 2 annuals. This ongoing title provided more information in regards to Hawk and Dove's greater role in the cosmic balance and their relationship to the ever-competing forces of the Lords of Order and the Lords of Chaos. The series climaxed with the death of Dawn Granger, the Dove. Following the series, the character, Hawk, went on to become a villain known as Monarch, and later, Extant.
