Hannibal (247-182 BC) was a Carthaginian military commander and tactician, generally regarded as one of the greatest commanders in history. The Doctor claimed to have met Hannibal and mistook the Brigadier for him. (DW: Robot)

Hannibal crossed the Alps by using vinegar to dissolve boulders. Harriet Jones was reminded of this when the Doctor told Mickey Smith to use vinegar against the Slitheen attempting to kill him and Jackie Tyler. (DW: World War Three)

Barbara Wright, in order to distract the Daleks, fabricated a story of a revolt which included Hannibal's forces crossing the Alps. (DW: The Dalek Invasion of Earth)

Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek content.

Hannibal Barca (circa 247 BCE - circa 183 BCE) was an ancient human from the city of Carthage on Earth. Hannibal was considered one of the finest military commanders in Earth history. Hannibal was particularly famous for leading a force which included war elephants over the Alps into northern Italy. Hannibal was eventually defeated, but not before taking most of the Roman's territory and forcing Rome to use every solider they had against him. (TOS comic: "No Time Like the Past")

Upon learning the novel Strangers from the Sky was based on Vulcan logs, James T. Kirk made the comparison to a study of "Hannibal's campaigns from the perspective of the elephants." (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

An interpretation of Hannibal's visage, among many others', flashed before Kirk and McCoy as the Sha Ka Ree entity finally settled on a "God" image. It read the minds of the two humans – as it had Spock and Sybok's – showing faces of individuals from Earth and Vulcan's histories. (ST novelization: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)

The city of Hannibal, Missouri was named after Hannibal. Starfleet also honored Hannibal by naming several starships after him. (DS9 novel: Antimatter)

The UNSC Hannibal was a United Nations Space Command Marathon-class Cruiser.

Background

On August 30 2552, Hannibal, along with many of the UNSC's finest ships, saw action during the Battle of Reach[3]. During the battle, the Hannibal charged into the oncoming Covenant fleet and was either disabled or destroyed during the battle. The ship, along with all the lives of its crew were lost. In the aftermath of the Battle of Reach the Covenant began moving the wreckage of the Hannibal, and the rest of the UNSC fleet into a concentrated region of space in a high stationary orbit over Reach's northern pole.
