Greg Linn Polis (born August 8, 1950 in Westlock, Alberta) is a retired former professional ice hockey player who played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and Washington Capitals.



Polis played for the junior Estevan Bruins and was selected as the Pittsburgh Penguins first choice in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft.

He became a star with the Penguins, scoring 88 goals in four and a half seasons. He played in the All-Star Game during his first three years with the Penguins.

Polis was traded to the St. Louis Blues in the middle of the 1973-74 NHL season and then sent to the New York Rangers at the end of the season. Polis had a hard time adjusting to the Rangers.

Following a number of injuries, Polis served his last pro season with the Washington Capitals in 1979–80.

He played in 615 NHL games and scored 174 goals and 169 assists.
