The "Greens" was the name given to one of the two major nation-states on planet Talin IV by observers from Starfleet's First Contact Office. The name was chosen because of the culture's use of the color green to identify their nation, and because of difficulties Humans had recreating Talin speech.
The Greens were a union of five nation-states on the planet's secondary continent, which consisted primarily of temperate forests and grasslands. Their main political rivals were dubbed the "Browns", the most powerful nation on Talin's primary continent.
Circa 2270, during the USS Enterprise's mission to Talin IV, the Greens accused the Browns of conducting illegal military surveillance flights over a Green airbase, a charge the Browns denied.
During this same period, the Greens were flying space missions to their moon, in cylindrical vessels which differed markedly from those used by the Browns
Greens, also known as Carrots, are items in the Final Fantasy series. They are typically connected to Chocobos.
