About Grapes

The grapes or the genus vitis are part of Vitaceae family are contains a variety of species. The main important species of grapes are raisins, currants and sultanas. The grapes can be black, blue, golden, green, purple-red or white. Grapes are usually cultivated, they grow in clusters of six to three hundreds or they can grow in the wild. Raisins, currants and sultanas are dried grapes which are generally consumed raw or used for preparing cakes or jams. Grapes are generally the main ingredient for preparing wine which have numerous medicinal benefits especially the red and the white wine. The studies show that grapes have some natural compounds which improve hearth diseases and fight against cancer, degenerative nerve disease and other disorders. The wine made of fruits has many benefits only when it is consumed moderate, one to three glasses during the week, otherwise it can be dangerous for the liver. The seeds inside the fruit are recognized to contain procyanidolic oligomers which improve blood circulation and strengthen blood vessels. Because of its numerous benefits grape seeds are commercialized in different forms like liquid, capsules or tablets.

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Grapes are a Cooking ingredient. They are one of the ingredients of a jug of wine. They can be found at two respawning locations: one in the Cooks' Guild, the other in the Phoenix Gang Hideout. Grapes take about 45 seconds to respawn on a medium-sized world. They can also be stolen from the wine stall in Draynor Village. Grapes can be used on a Jug of water to make a Jug of wine.

At one time, they could be purchased from the Culinaromancer's Chest for a reasonable sum, but a March 2009 update tied chest prices to Grand Exchange values, effectively making the Food Store useless. Another update on 25 March 2009 restored the old prices. Grapes cannot be consumed (eaten).

Guards, goblins, and hobgoblins now commonly drop them and always in groups of 3.

Making Money

Due to their relatively high value compared to their respawn time, grapes can be an easy and fast way to make money for Free-to-play players. Any player who can enter the Cooks' Guild (req. 32 Cooking or over and a chef's hat), or the Phoenix Gang Hideout can collect them from their respawn locations. Alternatively, players can kill Guards or Goblins and receive them as a drop. These can then be sold on the Grand Exchange, to players looking to make wine, for a considerable profit. This strategy works particularly well for low level players because it only requires being part-way through the Shield of Arrav quest. Alternatively, you can also go to the air runecrafting world, world 16. Many players kill the guards for fun, but since their inventories are full of essence, they will not pick up the grapes.
