Granite legs, though one step up the armour scale than rune, are weaker than rune platelegs, except for the ranged defence bonus. This was the second piece of granite armour to be released. The player must have level 50 Defence and Strength to equip them. This piece of armour cannot be made by players. The Granite legs can either be bought from another player or obtained as a drop from a Skeletal Wyvern. Many players do not purchase Granite legs because of its relatively low stats, and high weight, and cost. Dragon plateskirts offers overall better stats and are cheaper. However, granite legs can be useful against opponents who are ranging the wearer. Overall, Dragon plateskirts are recommended due to their lower price and better stats.
