During an event during July 2009, Gobballs were aggressive.

Strategy

It only has one spell, and that is a close combat attack, so try to kill it with ranged attacks. Also, any attack that knocks them back beyond their MP keeps them at a safe distance (like Retreat Arrow for cras) for easy elimination. You can also try running away from the lower level ones.
