Gin was an alcoholic Earth spirit flavored with juniper berries. Distilled gin is made by redistilling white grain spirit which has been flavored with juniper berries. Compound gin is made by flavoring neutral grain spirit with juniper berries without redistilling and can be considered a flavored vodka. The common drink "gin and tonics" was once believed to cure everything.

Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott included this drink in their "drinking alphabet". (TOS novel: Uhura's Song)

About Gin

Wikipedia Article About Gin on Wikipedia

Gin (Sometimes referred to as Mother's Ruin) is a spirit, or strong alcoholic beverage. It is made from the distillation of white grain spirit and juniper berries, which provide its distinctive flavour. The taste of ordinary gin is very dry, and as such it is rarely consumed on its own. It should not be confused with sloe gin, a sweet liqueur traditionally made from sloe berries (blackthorn fruit) infused in gin.

The most common style of gin, typically used for mixed drinks, is "London dry gin", which refers not to brand, marque, or origin, but to a distillation process. London dry gin is a high-proof spirit, usually produced in a column still and redistilled after the botanicals are added to the base spirit. In addition to juniper, it is usually made with a small amount of citrus botanicals like lemon and bitter orange peel. Other botanicals that may be used include anise, angelica root, orris root, cinnamon, coriander, and cassia bark.

A well-made gin will be very dry with a smooth texture lacking in harshness. The flavor will be harmonious yet have a crisp character with a pronounced Juniper flavor.

Other types of gin include Jenever (Dutch gin), Plymouth gin, and Old Tom gin (said to approximate the pot-distilled 18th century spirit).

Episode I, Episode II

Gin Clarke, or Gin is a former model and an actress for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Stock footage of her was used on Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

Clarke began her career when she was discovered by French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, while on a trip on London. She would then became a model, using her tall height, her athletic figure and her bald head to be noticed all over Europe. Her look was even imitated by a number of young black models, especially in the United Kingdom. During the mid 1990s, many bald black women modeled.

After that, she decided to retire from catwalking business to try luck on cinema. She began working as an actress on The Fifth Element, where she can be recognized as the assistant of Diva Plavalaguna.

She then was selected as one of the Jedi Masters for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, using as stage name only Gin instead of her full Gin Clarke. Master Adi Gallia used a strange headwear, so that Clarke's shaved head was not visible. She became one of the fan-favorites, and one of the first non-speaking Jedi Masters to get her own action figure (at a point where action figures included a chip to speak lines from the movies).

For Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Clarke was not called again. Lily Nyamwasa was selected for that role, having a certain resemblance to Clarke. Dressed in the same uniform, she was intended to play Clarke's character, but it was finally decided that she looked different enough to become a new character, so that Nyamwasa's character was named Stass Allie, a relative to Adi Gallia.

Lorenzo, known in Japan as Ryusei Gin「銀流星」(Gin Ryūsei) is the champion of a "Shooting Game" arcade game, who is employed by Alexis and Chazz to duel Jaden. Although he is defeated by Jaden, he comes to understand his opponent's definition of a fun duel. Sartorius punishes Lorenzo for his failure, taking complete control of him and his future and leaving Lorenzo's hair stark white, which Chazz describes as being "reborn".

His name in the original version means "silver meteor" when translated in Japanese order.

Voices/Mannerisms

In the English dub, he speaks with the accent of an Italian mafia member who uses stereotypical Sopranos phrases such as "Bada-bing!" and "Fuggedaboutit!"

Lorenzo plays a "Boss Rush" Deck. With the effect of "Boss Rush", Lorenzo is able to continuously summon B.E.S. monsters as they are destroyed, causing extra damage with "Cyber Summon Blaster". The flaw of this strategy, however, is that he is no longer able to summon in any other manner as long as Boss Rush remains in play. The concept of Lorenzo's cards is derived from the Konami video game series, Gradius, wherein a common element is a boss marathon consisting of about five bosses near the end of the game without any breaks between bosses.
