The Geomancer is a Job class from Final Fantasy Tactics. A balanced job in the physical classes, similar to Samurai but plays more defensively. The Geomancer has the job command Geomancy to bend the earth itself to attack and inflicts an ailment to the targets within a certain range. It costs 2,870 JP to master this Job.
In Final Fantasy Tactics, every grid in the battlefield is designated a specific type of terrain to determine which Geomancy ability should be cast. If the caster hasn't learned the Geomancy ability of the grid that he/she is standing on, the command Geomancy will simply be unavailable. The formula of the power of all Geomancy abilities are the same (exclusive of the target's elemental or Zodiac affinities): [Physical AT/2 + 1] × Magick AT with one eighth chance of ailment inflicting rate. Also note that Geomancy ability does not affect the caster even if he/she is in the effect area just like the -ja magick of Black Mage and Holy Sword ability of Holy Knight.
