Eugene Wesley Roddenberry was the creator of Star Trek universe, and an executive producer on Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, and Star Trek: The Next Generation until his death in 1991.
His voice is heard on the intercom from the TOS episode "Charlie X", when the USS Enterprise food galley has its meatloaf replaced with turkey.
His hand was filmed as Apollo's for the original special-effect in the TOS episode: "Who Mourns for Adonais?".
Gene Roddenberry also wrote several episodes of these series, as well as writing the novelization for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, based on Alan Dean Foster's screenplay.
Roddenberry was visited in 1964 by time-traveller J. R. Rasmussen, who offered ideas for a new television show, an idea he'd already been mulling over after finding the unpublished story Far Beyond The Stars. (Amalgamation of DS9 novelisation Far Beyond the Stars and SNW short story: "Research")
On his deathbed in 1991, Roddenberry was visited by three familiar figures, who offered to take him to the future, an offer he accepted. (SNW short story: "The Man Who Sold the Sky")
