The entrance of Gargan Roo.

Gargan Roo is an ancient transport network used on the Mist Continent, of the world Gaia, in Final Fantasy IX.

Gargan Roo itself is a network of roots from the huge Iifa Tree, which flow through underground tunnels. The passengers ride in a carriage that hangs from the back of a giant ant, called the Gargant. It is called by feeding it flowers that look like large dandelions.

Doctor Tot's mansion in Treno contains a secret entrance to Gargan Roo, which he shows the party after giving them the Supersoft. Tot also explains the system of levers that control the Gargant's path between Treno and Alexandria.

The Gargant can be spooked by many of the monsters spawned by the mist underground, such as the Ralvurahva and the Ralvuimago, which are very large snakes. The Ralvurahva interrupts the journey to Alexandria from Treno, and the Ralvuimago intercepts the Gargant on its journey back to Treno. Though defeated, the Ralvuimago scares the Gargant into accelerating past the Treno Station, crashing and isolating the party at Pinnacle Rocks.

There is another Gargant tunnel called Fossil Roo, which allows travel to the Outer Continent.
