The Garden Faculty are Garden personnel working in the three Gardens. While technically the term can be applied to both faculty and instructors (Aki, Quistis, Xu) the faculty of a garden wears a unique and distinctive garment that offsets them from the more casual attire worn by the instructors; Balamb Garden's is dressed in white and red robes with a yellow, face-covering headgear, Galbadia Garden's in tracksuits while Trabia Garden's in standard military garb. The Garden faculty are responsible for the administration and overseeing conduct and ethics.
Garden Faculty work to uphold the rules of a garden as well as managing the day-to-day businesses of the garden. In Balamb Garden, they also act as representatives of the garden's Master, NORG. Because of this, and the yellow appearance of the faculty members, it is sometimes speculated that they might be disguised Shumi. They also slightly resemble Black Mages in that their faces are completely covered with the color black.
