This article is about the Summoning familiar. For the gnome food, see Fruit batta.
The Fruit bat's chat head.

A Fruit bat is a familiar that a player may summon with the Summoning skill. Its inventory has 30 slots, and it can forage up to 30 pieces of fruit before requiring withdrawing.

Fruit bat pouch

A Fruit bat pouch requires 69 Summoning to infuse and is used to summon a Fruit bat. It is made by using a Summoning pouch on a Summoning obelisk with 130 spirit shards, a Green charm and a Banana in your inventory. It gives 121.2 Summoning experience when made, and 1.4 when used. Using this pouch on a Summoning obelisk will enable you to create 10 Fruitfall scrolls.

Fruitfall scroll

The Fruitfall scroll enables the use of the Fruitfall power for a Fruit bat familiar. The fruitfall scroll is made by using a Fruit bat pouch on a Summoning obelisk.

Fruitfall in action

Fruitfall is the Fruit bat's special move. It sends your bat to search for fruits. The bat will get 0-8 fruits and drop them on the ground for you. It brings an Average of 2. The difference from the Fly option is that it can be used anywhere, except inside a building and in caves/dungeons. Additionally, it will also bring better fruits, such as Papayas, Coconuts (rarely), Watermelons, bananas, etc. Papaya fruit is the most common with this special, (heals 8's), however, it does still bring lemons, limes and oranges. Players may make moderate amount of money by collecting the papayas and coconuts it finds. Activating this scroll provides 1.4 summoning experience and costs 6 special move points.

As the scroll is stackable and produces food, this familiar's special ability can potentially provide large amounts of healing in a single inventory slot. However, unlike other familiars with healing abilities, it drops the food on the ground next to the player, and some of it requires a knife and multiple free inventory spaces to eat. Because of this inconvenience, it's much more common to see players using the Bunyip for healing.

The fly option can be used on Karamja. It will not use any points, and can be used many times in a row. The Bat simply flies away to gather some fruits. It collects mainly Bananas, Oranges, Limes and Lemons, occasionally Pineapples.

Each fly takes around 8 seconds, and it gathers around 0-5 fruit per cast. You can withdraw the fruit from its inventory. But it cannot be flown in its last 30 seconds.

The Fruit Bat forages papayas, pineapples, coconuts, strawberries, watermelons, lemons, limes, oranges, bananas, strawberry seeds, and watermelon seeds. Thanks to its lengthy timer, it can produce a significant volume of fruit, enough to more than make up the cost of its pouch several times over.

A typical inventory of a fruit bat after 45 minutes. The total value of the items in this image is around 11,807 coins.
