First appearance

Fringe was an alien hybrid of two different races, one of which being the H'San Natall. His Earth mother was a woman named Tamara Gorman from Leesburg, Virginia. Tamara's husband was Mickey Gorman, a devoutly religious man who, believing Fringe to be his natural son, came to view the child as an abomination against God. More than sixteen years ago, Mickey Gorman tossed the infant off the Leesburg Creek Bridge, hoping that it would drown. The child obviously survived however and grew up in the forests around Leesburg. [1]

Several years ago, Fringe came into contact with the super-hero Supergirl as well as a team of similar alien/human hybrids known as the Teen Titans. Fringe became a target of Pylon and the Veil who had captured him and began experimenting on him. The Teen Titans rescued him and Fringe went off on his own. [2]

A short time later, Titan member Prysm, who had developed a bond with Fringe, came to Leesburg and reunited with him. She learned that Fringe was bound to a mysterious genie-like being known as the Entity. Prysm brought him to Metropolis as a potential member for the Teen Titans recruitment drive. Although Fringe had little interest in team dynamics, he liked Prysm, so he joined the team to be close to her. [3]

Powers and Abilities

  • Psychic Link: Fringe possesses a psychic link with all of the alien-human hybrids that were genetically bred by the H'San Natall. Through this link, he can perceive the emotional trauma of his peers and can determine, within limited range, where his fellow hybrids are located. [4]
  • Superhuman Strength: Fringe's strength levels are well beyond superhuman levels. He could easily hold his own in a fight against power houses such as Superman.

Fringe is mute.
