History

Freddy Krueger was once a sadistic child killer who lived in the midwestern town of Springfield. He culled many of his victims from the avenue known as Elm Street. Krueger was captured and went on trial, but was released on a technicality. The parents of the deceased children were outraged at such gross injustice, so they took it upon themselves to exact a measure of revenge. The Elm Street parents trapped Freddy inside the boiler room where he worked and set him on fire. As monstrous as Freddy was in life, his actions paled in comparison to those he committed after he was dead. Freddy's soul evolved into a demonic entity that existed in the world of nightmares. Armed with the same razor glove that he once used to claim his victims, Freddy began stalking fresh prey by invading their dreams.

Though most of Freddy's would-be victims are defenseless against him, he has on occasion encountered those who have proven resistant to Freddy's efforts. One such individual is the cynical zombie fighter Ash Williams. Another, is fellow serial killer Jason Voorhees.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Oneiromancy: Freddy Krueger does not exist in the physical world, but is instead a phantasm that resides in the realm of dreams. From this ethereal plane, Freddy can insinuate his consciousness into the dreams of others, terrorizing and often killing the dreamer in question. The effects of Freddy's power can manifest in the waking world however, as his victims often fall prey to inexplicable deaths that defy the laws of physics.

Paraphernalia

Equipment

As a phantasm, Freddy Krueger wears the same attire that he was wearing when his physical body first died. This includes dark, khaki pants, a red and green striped sweater and a dirty brown fedora.

Weapons

Freddy Krueger employs a special glove of his own design. The glove itself is made of leather and includes four straight razors attached to the finger pieces. While the actual glove itself once existed in the physical world, it also manifests itself as a part of Freddy's being in the dream world.

Notes

  • Freddy Krueger is based upon a character originally created by Wes Craven.
  • Freddy's physical characteristics are based upon the likeness of actor Robert Englund who portrayed Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise.
  • Height statistics are based on those of actor Robert Englund, though the WildStorm version of Krueger may be a different height altogether.
