Story
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)
Cid realizes the crystal amplifier is straining the Crystal, and is imprisoned when he attempts to shut the ship down. Bartz and his friends travel into the ship when the king comes to release Cid and try to save the Fire Crystal from the possessed Queen Karnak. Inside the ship, Galuf recovers from his amnesia, and tells the other Warriors of Light about Exdeath and the Warriors of Dawn. Further inside, the party reaches the engine room, where they find a possessed Queen Karnak, who transforms into Liquid Flame and fights the Warriors of Light. After defeating, the party enters Karnak Castle through a conduct that is used to deliver the Fire Crystal's power to the ship. Unfortunately, the Fire Crystal is destroyed regardless of all efforts.
Later, after the party returns from the Library of the Ancients with Mid, they find Cid in Karnak. Along with Mid, his grandson, they remodel the Fire-Powered Ship, so that it can sail without needing the power of the Fire Crystal. Afterwards, Bartz uses the fire-powered ship to travel to Crescent, however, it gets sucked into the Catapult during an earthquake. There it will stay for the rest of the game, however, it still stays open for the player to enter.
