Fightin' 5 was originally published by Charlton Comics and focused on the paramilitary team known as the Fightin' 5. The series continued the numbering sequence from Space War with issue #28. Although the Fightin' 5 has no other connection to the DC Universe, it is significant for introducing the character of the Peacemaker in issue #40. Peacemaker was a back-up feature in the title for two issues before the series became a reprint title. Peacemaker later went on to star in his own short-lived series for Charlton and was eventually absorbed into the greater DC Universe.
