Agriculture, or farming, is the production of food and resources by the processes of growing planets and rearing animals.

In the 23rd century the planet Prairie took agriculture to extreme proportions with huge fields of produce harvested over periods of months by massive crewed vehicles called harvester rigs. (EV comic: "The Flat, Gold Forever")

In the 24th century a series of domes built on the Maltese asteroid belt formed an agricultural colony called The Armada. The Armada grew organic crops of fruits and vegetables which fed the people of an entire sector. (TNG - The Space Between comic: "Space Seeds")

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This article is about NPCs just called "Farmer". For other uses, see Farmer (disambiguation).

Farmers are level 7 and can be a challenge for new players. These are the only humans to drop the decorative gardening boots. Farmers can be fair melee training for lower levels that need experience. Farmers can be found around the outside of the fence of Al Kharid across the bridge from Lumbridge. There is usually a farmer by Rat Burgiss. Farmers may seem weak to new players, but their level is higher than that of most new or inexperienced players, so these players risk death if they attack a farmer. However, if you run away from the farmer, he will stop chasing you after you leave a certain area.

Sometimes players hunt them for their Gardening boots drops.

Player with level 10 Thieving or greater can pick the pockets of farmers, gaining 15 experience and some loot.
