Fame was an NBC and syndicated TV series that aired from 1982 to 1987, based on the 1980 movie of the same name, focusing on students at New York City's High School for the Performing Arts.

In Muppet Magazine issue 2 (1983), Kermit the Frog visited the set of Fame to interview the cast, assisted by Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf, and several rats. Apart from Debbie Allen and Albert Hague, both reprising their teacher roles from the movie, the article spotlighted the young actors playing students.

Fame, also known as Reputation, is a stat in Final Fantasy XI. It is used to determine how well-known your character is to NPCs. It is an important stat for quests, for an NPC is more willing to give a task to a character with more fame than to a nobody. The more quests you go on, the more fame you receive, which in turn allows you to go on bigger quests, which leads to better rewards and more fame, and so on. Fame differs by region, and also affects some merchants. The more fame you have, the bigger discounts on items you can receive, from anywhere from 20% to 40%.
