The Kuat Drive Yards F7 Dropship, often referred to as a "Landing Brick", was a sixty meter long craft utilized on large capital ships that were incapable of atmospheric re-entry. The F7 was capable of delivering two-hundred and fifty metric tons of cargo in a barely controlled fall directly to a planet's surface. Its powerful engines were capable of returning the craft back into orbit, but at a much reduced speed. The first troops of a planetary assault were often dropped in this fashion, with further forces relying on more conventional craft for transport.

History

Grand Admiral Thrawn was known to have used F7 Dropships in unconventional attacks as boarding craft against other capital ships.
