The Extremist was a four-issue limited series published from September to December of 1993 under DC's Vertigo imprint. A Platinum Edition variant cover for issue #1 was shipped as a retailer's incentive (1 variant for every 50 standard issues ordered). The series focused on a secret society known as the Order who employed a masked assassin called the Extremist to protect its interests. Housewife Judy Sullivan finds herself drawn into a world of decadence and debauchery within the seedy, underworld of San Francisco.
