Letter: 19/09/2005

The first letter

Global Welfare Consortium
Rue Grande 1623

Switzerland

19 September, 2005

To: Dr. Roderick Johnson, M.D., Ph.D., Clinical Director,
Centers for Disease Control

From: GWC Executive Committee
RE: Violation of Ethical Guidelines / The Hanso Life-
Extension Project

CC: Mr. Peter Thompson, Vice President, General Counsel,
The Hanso Foundation; Hugh McIntyre, Vice President and
Communications Director, The Hanso Foundation.

Dr. Johnson:

We have received word of an unfortunate and most alarming
issue in the past days concerning research operations by
The Hanso Foundation in the sub-Saharan region of Africa.
Sadly, we have exhausted our mandate as a watchdog
organization and must petition you for a formal
investigation.

It has come to our attention that a new strain of
meningococcal disease has been reported in the costal
villages of the United Republic of Tanzania. This strain
breached the simian/homo sapien barrier.

As the enclosed documentation and correspondence
demonstrate, we have repeatedly asked the Executive Board
of The Hanso Foundation for assistance in determining the
possible correlation between the outbreak of this
transgenic disease and the research being conducted on
primates in the Experimental Station in Zanzibar.
As our requests have been met with utter and complete
disregard, we feel we have no other choice than to demand
your immediate intervention.

As The Hanso Foundation is using primates to research gene
therapies intended for human use, the correlation should
be obvious.

Considering the alarming nature of this outbreak and
the mounting death toll it is imperative that The Hanso
Foundation immediately open the doors of their
Experimental Station for inspection and, should a link be
found between their work and this disease, cease and
desist their activities immediately.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Lives are at stake.

Director General, GWC Executive Committee

To: Dr. Roderick Johnson, M.D., Ph.D., Clinical Director,
Centers for Disease Control

From: GWC Executive Committee

RE: The Hanso Life-Extension Project

Dr. Johnson:

Please consider this a formal apology for the heated and
alarmist tone of our previous correspondence, as well as a
formal request for the withdrawal of former Director General
Jacques Maillot's request for an intervention into the
affairs of The Hanso Foundation.

In the time since Monsieur Maillot's letter, GWC's
inspection team has been welcomed with open arms into The
Hanso Foundation's Experimental Station in Zanzibar. Our
thorough examination of the Station has made it clear that
the benign, non-invasive research being conducted there
could not have possibly resulted in the outbreak of a
transgenic virus.

Because we appreciate the CDC's willingness to intervene
when lives are at stake, the last thing we want is to abuse
our close relationship with your organization -- or sound
alarms before the need is absolutely clear. Once again,
please accept our apologies, and our appreciation of your
dilligent response to our correspondence.

Mr Peter Thompson, Acting Director General
Global Health Consortium

RE: The Hanso Life-Extension Project

My friends,

Given the current state of world affairs, it is more difficult than ever to guard against the
continuing emergence of new threats to the population; and harder still to enlist the aid of
the international business community in combating these threats on both a local and
worldwide level.

Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your extremely generous
contribution to our defense fund. The fact that you insisted upon the discretionary nature
of the donation only edifies our belief in the philanthropic nature of your intent.

It is my sincere hope that we can put the unpleasantness of our previous correspondence
behind us, and join together in order to move forward towards our common goal. Please
accept my most sincere regret for reacting prematurely and in such a way as to jeopardize
your important research at your Zanzibar facilities. You may rest assured that, in the
future, any communication with your organization or any agents thereof will be handled
with the utmost consideration and with every professional courtesy.

I bid you good luck for the future and very best wishes for the success of all your various
and dynamic endeavours.

Should you have the good fortune to meet with Mr Hanso personally, please extend to
him our most sincere appreciation and thanks. Would you also please convey that our
doors are always open and that we would, in fact, be thrilled to meet with him -- At his
convenience of course.

Yours very truly

Monsieur Jacques Maillot

Press Release: Hanso and the Global Welfare Consortium

Press Release about Partnership with the Global Welfare Consortium

THE HANSO FOUNDATION NAMED PARTNER IN WORLD HEALTH

The Hanso Foundation is pleased to announce that, as a result of the
efforts of the Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program,
the Global Welfare Consortium has named the Foundation a Partner in
World Health, a status granted only to those organizations at the
forefront of the battle to curb the spread of infectious disease.

The Global Welfare Consortium was established in Geneva, Switzerland
in 1952 to respond to and anticipate the health needs of an
increasingly global society. Current membership stands at 186
nations, with the recent expulsion of several African states due to
long-standing charges of ethnic cleansing. While those regimes no
longer receive GWC funding, the Consortium continues to work at the
local level with private organizations, such as The Hanso Foundation,
to provide key medical resources to embattled territories.

While the GWC's primary focus is on the combat of diseases such as
SARS, AIDS, and avian flu -- infectious, congenital, and degenerative
-- its mission, standing in alignment with that of The Hanso
Foundation, is to bring the citizens of the world to the maximum level
of wellness. This indicates not only a state of being free from
infirmity or disease, but a point of balance between the emotional,
physical, and social states. With 8 regional offices and 150 country
offices, the GWC is well poised to quickly react to emergent
situations, as well as to maintain high minimum health standards
globally.

In the GWC's thorough review of The Hanso Foundation's major programs
by the regulatory Corporate Compliance Committee, The Hanso Foundation
was found to exceed the GWC's standards of corporate excellence in the
areas of environmental impact, social outreach, and workplace
safety/well-being standards.

Hanso Foundation Communications Director, Hugh McIntyre: "As a Partner
in World Health, The Hanso Foundation is now a key private-sector aid
to the GWC's ongoing and constantly evolving programs. We are proud
to have this distinction bestowed on us."

A MESSAGE FROM HUGH MCINTYRE, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AT THE HANSO FOUNDATION

Don't Believe "Bad Twin"

For over thirty years, The Hanso Foundation has stood for
compassion and innovation, but today, our reputation has been
attacked in the novel "Bad Twin", written by Gary Troup and published
by Hyperion books.

Throughout the pages of "Bad Twin", readers have found numerous
passages featuring misinformation about The Hanso Foundation and
its partners. The Hanso Foundation strongly objects to the book
"Bad Twin", and encourages readers to make up their own minds.

The truth about The Hanso Foundation is available at
www.TheHansoFoundation.org and not on the pages of
Gary Troup's "Bad Twin".

Experience it for yourself.

Thank you, and namaste.

Letter to Hyperion: 9 May 2006

Hanso Foundation 9 May 2006 Letter to Hyperion Publishing

May 9, 2006

Mr. Robert Miller
President, Hyperion Books
500 S. Buena Vista
Burbank, CA 91030

Dear Mr. Miller,

On behalf of the Alvar Hanso and the Board of Directors of the Hanso Foundation, I am writing to-
day to demand that Hyperion Books immediately cease selling Gary Troup’s “Bad Twin,” a publication
rife with inaccuracies and false accusations about the Hanso Foundation and its reputable partners.
We are outraged that Hyperion Books published ‘Bad Twin’ without affording us the courtesy
of redressing the scandalous information littered throughout the book. Our pristine reputation has
been sullied; therefore we are forced to reallocate money from socio-scientific studies to vigorously
defend the lifelong work of our beloved Founder, Alvar Hanso.

Is it your standard business practice to publish malicious untruths which damage the credibility of
an organization that exist solely to benefit the human race by providing technological solutions to
the most pressing problems of our time? How unfortunate is it indeed that we must now spend precious
time and resources defending our work and reputation against the moral sewer known as “Bad
Twin.”

The Hanso Foundation is considering all options at its disposal, including legal recourse. I look
forward to your timely response.

Sincerely,
Hugh McIntyre
Director, Communications
