Escalator to Heaven
Fallout 3
requirements: Level 24, karma is lower than Very Good
ranks: 1
benefit: Karma is instantly set to Very Good.
base id: xx004c6f

Escalator to Heaven is a perk added to Fallout 3 with the Broken Steel add-on.

It instantly sets your karma to Very Good.

Behind the scenes

  • This perk is a reference to the Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven, just as the opposing perk Devil's Highway is a reference to the AC/DC song Highway to Hell.

Notes

It is generally inadvisable to get this perk since you could donate bottle caps to a church to quickly raise your Karma (2000 caps to go from max "Very Evil" Karma to max "Very Good" Karma), which a level 24 character should easily be able to afford. If you would like the caps back then have your character use a Stealth Boy or Chinese Stealth Armor and pickpocket back all the caps, this way you get minimal Bad Karma and you can redo the donations later on(should save before pickpocketing). If you're low on caps, try selling extra Enclave and Brotherhood gear and weapons.

Really the only reason to take this perk is to obtain the Messiah achievement for good karma at level 30.
