Choosing Errands in Final Fantasy Tactics

Errands, also known as Propositions, are short sidequests in Final Fantasy Tactics. After the player completes the first chapter, they can choose to take Errands by going to Taverns across Ivalice. To complete an Errand, the player must select a few characters from the party and they will leave the party for a few days. The player cannot personally take part in any Errand, rather the selected units do it all alone. Only generic human characters can be used, storyline characters and monsters cannot take part. The tavernmaster will mention how long the Errand will run for, with times such as 12 - 15 days. If the player allows for the units to spend the maximum amount of time on the Errand, they will receive the maximum amount of treasure. Errands also cost gil to take part in. They can be completed at any time after they appear.

At any time, the player can choose to recall his or her units, though they take one to two days to return. Once the time allotted has passed, the player can receive a Report on the success of failure of the Errand. If they have succeeded, the units sent will receive EXP and JP, along with some Gil. There is often a bonus of assorted items such as a Gil Bag or Ore but all of these are in all practicality just Gil. Though sometimes it can be an Artefact or Wonder. Errands are very difficult to fail, as all the units sent must be absolutely terrible for the job. The most slightly balanced team with several Jobs should be able to complete every Errand in the game.

These Errands can be performed at any time after Chapter 2, as long as are accepted during the right month of the Ivalician year.
