Eric Thompson (9th November, 1929 - 30th November, 1982) was a British actor, writer and television presenter best known for both scripting and narrating the English version of French children's animation Le Manege Enchante, better known as The Magic Roundabout. He also appeared in episodes of The Avengers and Doctor Who, and was a presenter on the long-running BBC childrens series Play School.

Eric appeared on Coronation Street in July 1964, playing Duffer, and again in October 1969 as coach owner George Searle.
